Checkered Flag Sprint Series crowned the 2010 series champions Saturday night, January 8th at the annual awards banquet ceremony held at the Red Rose Inn & Suites in Plant City, Fl. The evening started with cocktails and a buffet style dinner for the seventy some guests that attended the event.<\/p>\n
Mark Gimmler of Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. was crowned the Driver Champion, his first sprint car title. Driving the Norm Gimmler # 51, his first championship also, the team had 6 top ten finishes, 5 top five finishes, 1 feature win and a Barfield Clean Sweep win.<\/p>\n
Jimmy Alvis Jr., in his first full year with the CFSS finished second and was awarded the Performance Analysis Rookie of the Year, with 7 top ten finishes, 3 top five finishes, 1 feature win and 1 Barfield Clean Sweep. Gary Gimmler was third with 5 top five finishes and 1 feature win. Fourth went to Keith Butler with 5 top ten finishes, 4 top five finishes 1 feature win and 1 Barfield Clean Sweep. Amanda Ferguson finished fifth for the second year in a row with 6 top ten finishes and 4 top five finishes.<\/p>\n
