Joining them will be the Legend Cars, Sportsman, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Scramblers, V-8 Bombers, Bandoleros and the Kids Club.

The Outlaw Modifieds which resemble their big brother Supermodifieds but are powered by four cylinder engines, will be making their third and final appearance of the year and three-time Series champion Doug Hopper of New Port Richey is looking for the hat trick as he won both events held here earlier this season in May and June. However, Hopper will have to go some to secure his fourth Outlaw Modified title as veteran (and newlywed) Tom Meyer leads Hopper in the point standings by 58 with Saturday’s race and two others remaining for 2010.

Meyer has won four times on the circuit this year and has been a consistent top three finisher which has him atop the current standings. Hopper has five victories on the season and is 67 points ahead of third place Ric Mills. Mike Endee actually has the most Outlaw Modified wins this year with six but has missed a few races and sits fourth in points.

Although Jake Perkins won his heat race last week, mechanical woes dropped him to a 16th place finish in the Legend Car feature while Gerald White, Jr. finished fourth and cut his deficit in the point standings to 24. Justin Brown remains third in points and has opened up a bit of an edge on fourth and fifth place Mason Ketterman and Dave Gleason.

Dave Dunkin has increased his lead in the Sportsman point chase to 40 over Mark Medeiros who had a rough outing last time out. Brandon “Bones-a-Roni” Duchscherer is solidly in third place in the Sportsman points.

Jeff Waterman finished just ahead of Matt McCrary in last weeks Street Stock feature and has cut McCrary’s lead to just 16 points. This one looks like it will definately come down to the final race of the year.

With Fred Harrison, Jr. moving up to the Modified Mini Stocks, Chris Spring has wrapped up the 2010 Mini Stock track championship. Jason Swilley is third in points but will not be able to accumulate enough points to catch Harrison for second place.

A month ago, the Scrambler point race was very close, but a great stretch run by Kimberly Gullett coupled with several weeks of bad luck for Brian Tyre has seen Gullett open up a 120 point lead over Richard Brown. Tyre has picked up the pace with his new car and now sits just six points in back of Brown for second.

Josh Borem could pretty much wrap up the V-8 Bomber championship with a good finish this week as he leads Buddy Phillips, Jr. by 96 markers. Preston Davis has had the hot hand in the class of late winning four of the last five features.

Pit gates open at 2PM Saturday and grandstand gates open at 5PM with racing beginning at 7PM. The trick-or-treat session should take place between 8:30 AND 9PM. Adult admission is just $12 and seniors are $10. Kids aged 5-12 are $5 and all children aged 4 and under are free. Family four-packs (two adults and two kids aged 5-12) are $25. For more information log on to www.auburndaleracing.com powered by Palm Tree Computers.

NOTES:

The kids will be in for much more than just trick-or-treating this week. “Lindsey’s Little Racers” will be giving away yet another pair of bicycles bringing the total number of bikes given away this year to 30! Each child aged 10 and under will get a special ticket good for the drawing. One boys bike and one girls bike will be given away and both will include a helmet. “Lindsey’s Little Racers” would like to thank track “regular” Bryan Snow who donated one of the bicycles to be given away this week. The other bike was purchased with money raised from the weekly raffle. Two big prize packs will also be given away and will include a free oil change for each winners’ parents courtesy of McGee Automotive and Tire of Winter Haven. Each prize pack will also include sheets of race car cards which have been donated by Scrambler driver Kimberly Gullett plus 30 kids will get a free ice cream treat courtesy of Legend Car driver Jake Perkins and Sportsman driver Richard Elkins, Jr.

“Lindsey’s Little Racers” are looking for more items for their weekly raffle. If anyone would like to donate, it’s a great way to promote your business or just help insure the kids have a great time when they come to Auburndale Speedway. Items do not have to be racing related or super expensive. Just see either Lindsey or Julius Bruce or check with Raffle Coordinator Roger Turcott.

Expect a big announcement very soon concerning the 12 race Late Model Series being put together between Auburndale Speedway, Citrus County Speedway, Desoto Super Speedway, New Smyrna Speedway, Orlando SpeedWorld and Columbia Motorsports Park. This looks to be a huge Series for the Late Model teams next year.

The Legend Car field continues to grow with new additions Austin Blankenship and Ryan Shattuck. Blankenship has several Karting titles under his belt and hails from High Springs just south of Lake City. Shattuck is no stranger to Auburndale Speedway having won many Bandolero races over the last two years and he hails from the Florida Keys town of Islamorada. Shattuck’s first Legend Car start last week wasn’t as he hoped, tasting the turn two concrete during the feature. Shattuck wasn’t fazed though as he autographed the fender he knocked off and it became part of the “Lindsey’s Little Racers” raffle and was carted home by a lucky fan.

Russ Thomson who heads up Legends Cars of Florida has a long waiting list for his test ride program and is predicting a huge year for the Legends at Auburndale in 2011, especially since the Winternationals will be held here this year starting on February 14th.

<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size:
