Just three weeks remain before Late Model drivers will converge on Auburndale Speedway for their final race of 2010 with over $22,000 in prize money and contingency awards now up for grabs. Sixty-three different drivers have raced in the previous Late Model events at Auburndale this year and will be eligible for the full purse and all contingencies. The winner can take home $5,000 cash plus contingencies and even if the winner has not competed yet this year at Auburndale, the winner’s check will still be a cool $4,000.<\/p>\n

Tim Russell established himself as the favorite by winning the last Late Model race two weeks ago giving him three wins on the season. Jeff Scofield, a two-time winner this year leads the points even though he missed the last race and will certainly be a favorite as well. Daniel Webster is the only other driver to win a Late Model event this year and can’t be counted out as a favorite either. A very large car count is expected with such a big purse on the line.<\/p>\n

Fans will have the opportunity to become big winners as well. Aaron’s will be on hand once again and among the prizes they have for the fans will be a big screen television. Midas Jewelers will also be giving away his and her gold watches. Many sponsors have stepped up to the plate for this race including:<\/p>\n

The first 250 fans through the gates on October 16th will receive free hats and t-shirts from Wix Filters. Fans are asked to be there early to get the best seats as a huge crowd is expected. Also racing that night will be the Legend Cars, Sportsman, Scramblers, V-8 Bombers, Bandoleros and the Kids Club.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
