SALEM, Ind. \u2013 Ken Schrader held onto the lead during several late-race restarts and pulled away from the rest of the field to win Sunday\u2019s Federated Auto Parts 200 at Salem Speedway.<\/p>\n

Schrader, 59, won for the first time at Salem since 1999, picking up his 18th all-time ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards victory. He led the final 138 laps.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust winning anywhere feels good,\u201d Schrader said. \u201cIt had been so long since we\u2019ve been able to win here. We\u2019ve had a good car here several times, but for whatever reason we didn\u2019t win it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Driving the No. 22 Cunningham Motorsports Ford, Kyle Weatherman charged in front of Dominic Ursetta on the final lap to finish second. Fifteen-year-old J.J. Haley was fourth in the Braun Auto Chevrolet and Austin Wayne Self finished fifth in the AM Technical Solutions Ford.<\/p>\n

The first of six cautions came out on lap five, scrambling the field.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat early wreck put us off the whole race,\u201d Weatherman said. \u201cI had to fight back from bad track position. It was hard to pass. I never give up and always race to the end.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ursetta\u2019s Venturini Motorsports teammate, Brandon Jones, finished sixth, with three-time Salem Speedway winner Tom Hessert bringing the Barbera\u2019s Autoland Ford home seventh. Clayton Weatherman placed eighth in his first ARCA race in the United Nissan-St. Charles Glass Ford while SCOTT Rookie Challenge leader David Levine was ninth in the Gary Yeomans-Ford Perforance-TraqGear Ford. James Swanson scored his first career top 10 in the Kan Do Dodge. Swanson was the final car on the lead lap.<\/p>\n

Haley gave Schrader a battle for the lead with 50 laps to go, before getting passed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had to start 26th, so it was a challenge,\u201d Haley said. \u201cI could have ended my day really early. I was up to seventh by lap eight, so that was really good. On my second pit stop, I went from ninth to second, so I have to thank my pit crew for that track position. We could have contended for the win, it\u2019s just some things didn\u2019t play into our favor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Josh Williams, who entered the race second in driver points, finished 19th after leaving the race for handling issues at lap 111.<\/p>\n

The win for Schrader saw the end of Grant Enfinger\u2019s three-race winning streak. It was the second consecutive season that Enfinger started the year with three straight wins \u2013 the first ARCA Racing Series driver to do so.<\/p>\n

Enfinger was battling Schrader for the lead with 26 laps to go when he made it up to second place. But, he said, he drove the car a little too hard and ending up breaking a rear track bar mount. He finished 13th, eight laps down.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe didn\u2019t have that great of car to be racing with Kenny at the end,\u201d Enfinger said. \u201cWe were giving it all we had there at the end. I\u2019m trying not to get too down on it. We\u2019ve still had a great start to the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to say congratulations to Kenny,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s always great racing with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to Schrader, Enfinger led 23 laps and Hessert 39.<\/p>\n

Schrader\u2019s last ARCA win came at DuQuoin in 2013, when he was 58, giving him the distinction of being the oldest winner in series history. Schrader, who turns 60 on May 29, surpasses his own mark now as the oldest winner in series history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
