\"OrlandoOrlando SpeedWorld was back in action with six divisions taking part as\u00a0Lakeland’s Becca Monopoli got a good weekend off to a winning start by\u00a0dominating the Pro Truck feature. \u00a0Kelly Ross led the opening lap of the Pro Truck 25-lap finale but Monopoli\u00a0grabbed the lead and never looked back. \u00a0Whitney Poole moved up to second\u00a0early on but was unable to chase down Monopoli as the lady drivers finished\u00a01-2. Brian Lynch came home in third spot ahead of Rich Cordis, Ross and Randy\u00a0Poole. \u00a0Heat wins went to Whitney Poole and Lynch. \u00a0On Saturday\u00a0night,\u00a0Monopoli would go on to win the Joey Coulter Florida Pro Truck Series race at\u00a0Citrus County Speedway.<\/p>\n

Michael Held led every lap of the Super Stock race then was able to pass tech\u00a0this time, taking his first win of the young season. \u00a0The only caution of the\u00a0race came when Bobby Cuddy spun on the front stretch on lap 13. \u00a0Held’s\u00a0teammate Brandon Christian finished a distant second trailed by Jeff Cuddy. \u00a0Bobby Cuddy recovered to take fourth in front of John Bennett and Ernie\u00a0Stickle. \u00a0Held also won the heat race.<\/p>\n

The best race of the night took place in the Bandolero feature. \u00a0Sam Cornman,\u00a0Colton Bramlett and Ryan Pierce all led laps during the event, then entered\u00a0turn one on the white flag lap three-wide. \u00a0Cornman used a gutsy inside move\u00a0to claim his third win of the year closely pursued by Bramlett and Pierce in a\u00a0crowd-pleasing finish. \u00a0Brandi Bibeau took fourth ahead of Katy Froelich who\u00a0was in her first-ever race. \u00a0Mark Bibeau fell out of the event while running\u00a0fourth. \u00a0Bramlett and Pierce won the heat races.
\nNeil Kirby and his Ford Probe “vacuumed” up the field once again to win his\u00a0second Strictly Stock feature of the year in just his second start. \u00a0Charlie\u00a0King, Sr. kept pace but had to settle for second over Megan Metheny as Fords\u00a0swept the top three spots. \u00a0Tommy Flinn was fourth while Keith Wylie, Jamie\u00a0Sullivan, Doug Samion and Luis Guillen, Jr. completed the finishers. \u00a0Heats\u00a0went to King and Metheny.<\/p>\n

Zachary Curtis ran off with the Four Cylinder Stock feature race in his Saturn\u00a0topping Charlie King, Jr. who looked very good in just his third career race. \u00a0Heat winner Eric Hodge was third followed by Shane Sutorus and Damien Kwaak.<\/p>\n

Keith Sunkula out-ran David Owen to win the Legend Car feature.<\/p>\n

The Orlando SpeedWorld oval track will be in action both\u00a0Friday\u00a0and\u00a0Saturday\u00a0night next week. \u00a0On Friday\u00a0night,\u00a0April 18th, classes seeing action will be\u00a0the Modifieds, Sportsman cars, Legend Cars, Strictly Stocks, Four Cylinder\u00a0Stocks and the Bandoleros. \u00a0Saturday\u00a0evening will mark the first appearance of\u00a0the year by the Tampa Bay Area Racing Association (TBARA) Winged Outlaw Sprint\u00a0Cars. \u00a0The Pro Challenge cars will also be in action plus there will be\u00a0Antique Car racing. \u00a0The Strictly Stocks will see a cash-paying event for\u00a0their class and track officials are attempting to put a Figure-Eight race\u00a0together for that night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
