OCALA, FL \u2013 Inclement weather has forced postponement of the first two nights of racing for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division Bubba\u2019s Army Winternationals Presented By Rock Auto.com at Bubba Raceway Park.\u00a0 The five-race series has been rescheduled to run on Thursday through Sunday.<\/p>\n
Racing is scheduled to resume on Thursday night with a 40-lap $2,000-to-win race, with another 40-lap $2,000-to-win race scheduled for Friday night.\u00a0 There will be two complete shows that will run on Saturday, with a 40-lap $2,000-to-win race on Saturday afternoon, followed by a 50-lap $3,000-to-win race on Saturday night.\u00a0 A 40-lap $2,000-to-win race will be run on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n
On Thursday and Friday, NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Pre-Race Registration will be open from 3 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.\u00a0 The Drivers Meeting is set for 6:15 p.m., with Hot Laps scheduled for 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, the gates open at 9 a.m. with NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection for both races from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.\u00a0 The Drivers Meeting is set for 11 a.m., and racing is scheduled for 12 noon.\u00a0 At the completion of the 40-lap main event, there will be a break to clear and readmit the grandstand area, and perform track prep before the start of the 50-lap racing program.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, the gates open at 9 a.m. with NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection for both races from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., and racing is scheduled for 12 noon.<\/p>\n
With a field of 39 race cars set to do battle, rain set in at Bubba Raceway Park late Tuesday afternoon, and a weather forecast of more rain, wind, and cold temperatures for Wednesday forced track officials to postpone until Thursday when clear and warmer weather is in the forecast.<\/p>\n
The car count should go up on Thursday, as several teams north of the Florida boarder were snowed in by a rare Deep South snow and ice storm.\u00a0 Portions of I-75 in Georgia were closed on Tuesday afternoon.\u00a0 One of the snowed in race teams included that of the defending NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Champion Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN.<\/p>\n
