Byrider that had a drawing for free gas card.

First on the track was the Rookie 4 class, made up of beginner racers that are sixteen or younger. It was Sherry Best that made a clean sweep of the night by winning the heat and feature. Hard charging Zach Rogers was second and Jimmy Best was third.

Cowboy Cadillacs may be few but what a show they put on for the fans. While John Pummell jr was out front the battle was between Mike True and Mike Balecki who were nose to tail, side by side and fighting hard for position. With two to go, Bilecki was running out of time, and brought out the caution for spinning True. When the checkers flew it was Pummell, Bilecki made his way by True to finish second while True settled for third.

T.Q. Midgets took to the track minus the 17 of Mark Gimmler who hit the wall pretty hard when his throttle stuck in practice, Mark was ok but did not make the feature. This twenty five lap feature clearly seemed to belong to Steven Meier of Port St. Lucy who was leading from the drop of the green. With some pressure from the thirty of Rob Kohler who was closing in on Meier and looking at the half way sign from the flagman, Meier’s night ended on lap fourteen when his car flipped. Meier was ok but that opened the door for Kohler out of Naples to bring home the win but was challenged hard by second finisher, Mike Belusar of Punta Gorda. Chris Gimmler from Palm Beach came in third.

It was the Triple Crown Race # 3 for the Champ Karts. Fourteen Karts took the green for twenty five laps that saw no cautions so it was drafting, racing, lapping, three wide at times. Tim Simmons led most of the laps but when the checkers came out and it was Brian Scherrer who led the last few laps and crossed the line first. Simmons came in second while Wesley Gonzalez was third.

Pro 4 saw a battle between Randy Johnson and Ronald Robinson for most of the race, racing side by side. Robinson led the first half of the race while Johnson led the second half, while both were challenged by the thirteen that was driven by Codey Benoit. Johnson finished first, Robinson was second and Benoit was third but was Dqed in tech for shocks that gave Jonny Marra that third place win.

The J. D. Byrider Pro Trucks came out for forty laps, since the scoreboard was stuck by lightning the night before, the drivers drew pills for position. Nick Hernandez of Palmetto started on the pole while Anthony Campi of Sarasota outside him for the start of the race. Hernandez got the lead from the start while Campi was right behind him as the ran thirty eight laps with only one caution on lap sixteen when the 29 of Phil Ellis spun and had to pit for over heating issues. When Campi saw the two to go he had to go and tagged Hernandez, causing the caution to come out, and being sent to the rear. With the field doubled back up and a green white checker to go, Hernandez has Brent Huber on the outside and Dennis Coletti and Sam Scott behind them. As they come out of four to take the checker, Huber was on the outside of Hernandez and just at the line, by a bumper, Huber steals the win from Hernandez after he led thirty nine laps. Hernandez was second, while Coletti was third, Scott fourth and Chad Chastain rounded out the top five.

Pill draw was also done for the Take Aim Gun Range Late Model Sportsman who also ran a forty lap feature and it was Young Michael Atwell of Naples that sat on the pole. Atwell had a strong car and a strong lead while the rest of the field was battling for position. On Lap twelve the 199 of Brett Jenkins cut a tire and was headed straight for the turn two wall to bring out a caution. On the restart the 68 of Gary McFall and Aaron Williamson were side by side and made some contact and McFall spun. A few more laps under green and Atwell still in the lead while the seventeen of Clyde Cole made some contact with McFall and was sent to the rear, while Williamson had made it up to the bumper of Atwell with Roger Welch in the mix. Williamson thought he would make an easy pass on the young Atwell but he wasn’t haven’t it and Atwell hung right in there while they raced side by side for laps with Atwell inside and Williamson out and Welch waiting right on their bumper. Williamson had Atwell a few times at the line as they crossed side by side for laps then it was Atwell who would not give up. There was contact made with four laps to go which resulted with Williamson having a flat tire and had to limp around till the checkers came out. Atwell crossed the line as the winner with Roger Welch second and McFall recovered back to a third place finish.

Road Warriors had a strong field of fourteen cars that saw Chris Scott lead start to finish but was raced hard for the lead by Chris Loney and Richard Nelson who ran bumper to bumper till the first caution on lap seventeen. The first caution came out when the fifty seven of Ben Kelly washed up the track and right in to the side of James Dellea III which appeared to break something on the car and retire the 81 for the night. Chris Loney tried everything he had to make the pass on Scott for first but just couldn’t get it done and had to settle for second while Jason Miller made the pass on Nelson to come home in third.

The last race of the night was the Q Auto and Injury Attorney Junk Yard Dogs that saw James Widner run start to finish as the leader. Dalton Ellis battle hard but ended up second while Larry Seffold was third.

Make plans for next week at the Full Throttle Speedway and bring a friend, it is only 13.oo for adults

8-17-20123
Street Stock 35 $500.00 to Win (subject to car count)
Road Warriors 35 $400.00 to Win (subject to car count)
Modified Mini 30 $450.00 to Win (subject to car count)

Legends National Qualifier
Perfect Pest Control Pro 4/ Rookie 4
Cowboy Cadillacs

Q Auto & Injury Junk Yard Dogs

Dwarf Cars
Fan Participation (time permitted)

visit our new web site for all up to date information, http://www.fullthrottleracepark.com.

FULL THROTTLE SPEEDWAY RESULTS 8/10/2013

LATE MODEL SPORTSMAN
1.51 Michael Atwell Naples
2.98 Roger Welch St.Pete
3. 68 Gary McFall Venice
4. 17 Clyde Cole Saraota
5. 6 Greg Gorniak Homestead
6. 13 Aaron Williamson Mulberry
7. 67 James Dubose Arcadia
8. 71 Ted Head
9. 73 Mark Peterson
10. 199 Brett Jenkins Lakeland
11. 12 David Williamson Mulberry

PRO TRUCKS
1. 64 Brent Huber Venice
2. 37 Nick Hernandez Palmetto
3. 4 Dennis Colletti Bradenton
4. 14 Sam Scott Naples
5. 36 Chad Chastain Alva
6. 8 Anthony Campi Sarasota
7. 80 Richard Nelson Port Charlotte
8. 9 Cole Partelo Largo
9. 5 James Daring Lehigh
10. 7 John Garrett Port Charlotte
11. 29 Phil Ellis Arcadia

ROAD WARRIORS
1.97 Chris Scott Nokomis
2. 33 Chris Loney Naples
3. 10 Jason Miller Lehigh Acres
4. 80 Richard Nelson Port Charlotte
5. 96 Scott McKay
6. 57 Ben Kelly
7. 18 Logan Leonard
8. 8 Jeff Deeble Port Charlotte
9. 44 Rick Hess Englewood
10. 43 Mark Petty Venice
11. 81 James Dellea 3rd.
