July 27th\u00a0at track know as &#8220;The Friendliest Track in the South&#8221; Citrus Co. Speedway.\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">This event was original scheduled for\u00a0June 8th\u00a0and was called due to rain,<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">if needed<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the new rain date\u00a0will be\u00a0Sunday July 28th\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0For the last few years the event has been held on dirt and we are honored\u00a0to have this event back on asphalt at\u00a0our facility, stated track promoter Don Cretty. After last weekends FUPS race at Auburndale it will be one heck of a show to see if anyone can stop &#8220;Mr. Florida Short Track&#8221; Wayne Anderson as he picked up win #5 for the season.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: medium;\">This event will also be race #6 for the FL United Promoters Series, we are thrilled to have been able to make this all work for the Powell Family, the track and the series, commented series director Rick Williams. James and I have been friends for a long time and we are so glad to host this event for him and his family, added Williams.<!--more--><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: medium;\">Past winners of The Powell Family Memorial include Jeff Purvis, Freddie Query, David Reutimann, Mike Franklin Jr., Wayne Anderson, Ivedent Lloyd Jr., Johnny Collins, and James Powell himself.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: medium;\">Five time winner this season with FUPS,\u00a0Wayne Anderson will be challenged by young Randy Anderson, Daniel Webster, Jesse Dutilly, Anthony Cataldi, Billy Bigley Jr, Todd Brown, David Green, Scott Walters, Jeff Schofield, Mike Bresanhan and many more as they all chase the $5,000 first place prize for 125 laps.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: medium;\">The Legends will join the card for the night&#8217;s action along with Mod Mini&#8217;s, Pure Stocks, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, Figure 8&#8217;s, Hornets,\u00a0and Bandoleros. There will be an open practice\u00a0on Friday\u00a0night\u00a0July 26th from 5pm-9pm., Sat. pit gates open at\u00a010am\u00a0for parking.
