\nBlaney.\u00a0 Early on Saturday, Dave \u201cThe Buckeye Bullet\u201d Blaney \u2013 a regular with the
\nNASCAR Sprint Cup series – scored the win at Port Royal Speedway in
\nPennsylvania. Not to be outdone, his brother, Dale \u201cThe Low Rider\u201d Blaney
\nheld off a late race challenge from Sheldon Haudenschild to score his 94th
\ncareer University of Northwestern Ohio All Star Circuit of Champions
\nvictory to open the track\u2019s 25th anniversary season on HD
\nSupply\/Construction Equipment and Supply Spring Nationals.<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard Dale got the win at the Port\u2026.he needs to race with us more to get
\nhis confidence up\u2026.but I don\u2019t know if that will be a good thing. He could
\nbe a pain to all of us if that happens,\u201d joked Dale Blaney beside his
\nTi22\/GF1 backed machine in victory lane<\/p>\n

\u201cCap (Henry) was strong like he has been here the last few times we\u2019ve run
\nat Attica. But George (Fisher) and Troy (Psurny) gave me a good car\u2026I love
\nracing here\u2026the track is always great,\u201d added Blaney.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoy Sheldon just keeps getting better and better. During that red George
\ntold me I\u2019d better get going or I was going to get my butt kicked. He made
\nsome little adjustments to the car and it was fantastic,\u201d continued Blaney,
\nwho now is just four wins away from tying Kenny Jacobs for the UNOH All
\nStars\u2019 all time win lead.<\/p>\n

Four time and defending UNOH All Star champion Tim Shaffer and Blaney, a
\nthree time series champion and current point leader lead the field the
\ngreen. After a lap was complete Brady Bacon would spin with the running
\norder Blaney, Henry, Caleb Helms, Shaffer and Randy Hannagan. On the
\nrestart Henry, the quick qualifier of the night, would rocket past Blaney
\nas Hannagan would drive past Shaffer into fourth.<\/p>\n

As Henry prepared to hit the back of the field, Blaney closed with Helms
\ncomfortably in third as Hannagan and Shaffer battled four fourth with Danny
\nSmith and Haudenschild in tow. By lap 15, Henry, who nearly took the win at
\nhis local track during the Ohio Sprint Speedweek event in 2012, was in
\nheavy lapped traffic, but was picking his way through patiently as Blaney
\nlooked for a chance to pounce. At the halfway mark Blaney was now on
\nHenry\u2019s rear bumper with Helms facing a challenge from Haudenschild. Henry
\nand Blaney raced side by side over the next two laps as they tried to
\nnegotiate traffic. On lap 23 Blaney would use the lapped machine of Duane
\nZablocki as a pick and drove around Henry for the lead. Henry tried to make
\na move in turn two, but he and Zablocki would spin, bringing out the
\ncaution.<\/p>\n

The restart order was now Blaney, Helms, Haudenschild, Hannagan, Shaffer
\nand Smith. When the green reappeared, Haudenschild wasted little time
\ndisposing of Helms and was closing quickly on Blaney when the caution flew
\non lap 29 for a Jamie Barnes spin. Now with a clear track, Blaney would
\ndrive to the bottom on the restart and pulled away slightly from
\nHaudenschild as Hannagan moved into third, bringing Shaffer into fourth
\nwith eight laps to go. On the next circuit, Travis Philo would make contact
\nwith another car, collapsing the front of his car, and with no where to go,
\nHenry would tag him, flipping on the front stretch. The Bellevue, Ohio
\ndriver was okay, but it was another frustrating ending at his home track.<\/p>\n

After the open red, the restart order had Blaney over Haudenschild, with a
\nlapped machine in third followed by Hannagan, Shaffer, Helms, Smith, Cole
\nDuncan and 20th place starter Brandon Martin. Again when the green flew,
\nBlaney drove away on the bottom. With just two laps to go, the battle was
\nfor third as Hannagan and Shaffer raced side by side. Now all eyes were on
\n16th place starter and defending Attica champion Craig Mintz who came alive
\nthe last five laps, racing into fifth.<\/p>\n

As the checkered flew Blaney claimed his fifth Spring Nationals victory in
\nthe last seven years. It was his 17th career win at Attica as he sits fifth
\nin the track\u2019s all-time win list. Haudenschild would score his best ever
\nAll Star finish with a runner-up performance while Hannagan, Shaffer and
\nMintz would round out the top five.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was a lot of fun. We nearly got a win here late last year before we
\ngot tore up. I have to thank my mom and dad and sister for all their
\nsupport and Ripper for all the hard work tonight,\u201d said Haudenschild beside
\nhis Triple X\/Wintermyer Auto Salvage backed machine. \u201cI didn\u2019t want to see
\nthat red\u2026when you give Dale and George a chance to work on that car, it\u2019s
\nhard to beat them. It just took awhile for the car to get going on
\nrestarts. But, I\u2019m really happy with the run\u2026.it\u2019s a great way to start the
\nyear.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Hannagan and his new ride \u2013 the Shane Wade Amati Racing Marion
\nUnderground Construction team \u2013 it was also a great start to the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe couldn\u2019t ask for a better start to the season. We were good all night
\nand the car got better at the end. I\u2019m really excited for what this team
\ncan do,\u201d said Hannagan.<\/p>\n

The UNOH All Stars will take on the tough Pennsylvania Posse on April 26 at
\nthe legendary Williams Grove Speedway and April 27 at Port Royal Speedway.<\/p>\n
