Their precision driving made for some intense racing excitement as several cars jockeyed for position in their quest for the checkered. In the end however, Steve Crabtree in the # 5 car, out-drove his competitors and crossed the finish in first place.

In the Pure Stock feature, track favorites such as Dave Hess, Tim Odom and Brent Zimmerman dominated the front pack until the last few laps, when Willard Driggers surged ahead and captured the checkered flag. The Street Stocks produced a few bang-up, caution flags and provided Michael Moore in the 65w with his first win ever, much to the delight of many excited fans. The Box Stocks yielded a first time winner as well, with Robert O’Neil capturing his first checkered flag, trophy and bragging rights for the night’s victory. It is very likely we will be seeing more of Robert in Victory Lane in the very near future.

The thunderous roar of the Open Wheeled Modifieds rocked the grandstands with their usual heart-thumping entrance and went on to provide much of the night’s dramatic interaction. Henry Hall in car # 131 blasted down the straight-aways, with Chip and Kyle Owen in hot pursuit, along with Jeff Sweeney and Ronnie Chance not far behind. As these five, fearless combatants battled for position, Jamie Carter in the number 15 car maintained his lead over the field with some outstanding driving and flawless execution. His competitors were counting on the one mistake that would yield the lead and give them the edge, but that moment never came. He crossed the finish line well ahead of the second placed car and experienced the thrill of Victory with a trophy and first place prize money.

North Florida Speedway will be hosting more exciting dirt racing action on May 29, 2010. They will feature the National Late Models, Pure Stocks, Sportsmans and Limited Mods. Additionally, May 29th is Driver Trading Card Night.
