Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55 and Spring Classic doubleheader held on Oct. 13<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"\"PEVELY, Mo. – Sept. 26, 2012 – Fingers are crossed that the third time is the charm.<\/p>\n

Weather has claimed each of the previous two attempts at a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 this season, which has postponed both races to a unique doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 13.<\/p>\n

The Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55 presented by Summit Distributing\/Coors Light, which only has the 55-lap feature remaining in its program, will take place at approximately 3 p.m. with the front gate opening at 1 p.m. \u00a0The stands will be cleared following that event and reopened for the Spring Classic event in the evening.<\/p>\n

“It’s going to be really different because I-55 can be pretty demanding as it is,” Chad Kemenah said. “You’ll probably want to be pretty good and rested come that weekend.”<\/p>\n

On Aug. 3, Kerry Madsen won the dash to earn the pole for the Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55. However, as the cars were staged on the track for the feature, a severe storm struck the facility. The spectators and teams were urged to seek shelter as the main event was postponed.<\/p>\n

“If you’re going to pick a spot you want to be on the pole,” Madsen said. “You’re going to have to push relatively hard early, but you’ve got to maintain and keep the wheels under you. You’re not going to make it 55 laps driving wide open and spinning the tires.”<\/p>\n

The Spring Classic was postponed on April 14 after rain soaked the high-banked track.<\/p>\n

Current Ironman ticket holders and reserved seat holders, including those who purchased pit passes, will have their tickets honored only for the Ironman at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13.<\/p>\n

Fans with tickets for the Spring Classic are invited to attend the Ironman in General Admission, with their reserved tickets being honored for the nightcap.<\/p>\n

New customers can also attend the 3 p.m. Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55 by purchasing a Spring Classic ticket for that night.<\/p>\n

Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55 pit passes will be accepted for the 3 p.m. makeup only. Pit passes purchased for Spring Classic will also be honored for the Ironman event.<\/p>\n
