{"id":14146,"date":"2012-09-27T03:20:08","date_gmt":"2012-09-27T03:20:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/?p=14146"},"modified":"2012-09-27T03:20:56","modified_gmt":"2012-09-27T03:20:56","slug":"outlaws-bring-title-battle-to-federated-auto-parts-raceway-at-i-55","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/front-page-news\/outlaws-bring-title-battle-to-federated-auto-parts-raceway-at-i-55\/","title":{"rendered":"Outlaws Bring Title Battle to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong><em>Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55 and Spring Classic doubleheader held on Oct. 13<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-13706\" title=\"Woo sprint-car-series-logo\" src=\"https:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/World-of-outlaws-sprint-car-series-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"298\" height=\"179\" \/>PEVELY, Mo. &#8211; Sept. 26, 2012 &#8211; Fingers are crossed that the third time is the charm.<\/p>\n<p>Weather has claimed each of the previous two attempts at a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 this season, which has postponed both races to a unique doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 13.<\/p>\n<p>The Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55 presented by Summit Distributing\/Coors Light, which only has the 55-lap feature remaining in its program, will take place at approximately 3 p.m. with the front gate opening at 1 p.m. \u00a0The stands will be cleared following that event and reopened for the Spring Classic event in the evening.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s going to be really different because I-55 can be pretty demanding as it is,&#8221; Chad Kemenah said. &#8220;You&#8217;ll probably want to be pretty good and rested come that weekend.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On Aug. 3, Kerry Madsen won the dash to earn the pole for the Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55. However, as the cars were staged on the track for the feature, a severe storm struck the facility. The spectators and teams were urged to seek shelter as the main event was postponed.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you&#8217;re going to pick a spot you want to be on the pole,&#8221; Madsen said. &#8220;You&#8217;re going to have to push relatively hard early, but you&#8217;ve got to maintain and keep the wheels under you. You&#8217;re not going to make it 55 laps driving wide open and spinning the tires.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Spring Classic was postponed on April 14 after rain soaked the high-banked track.<\/p>\n<p>Current Ironman ticket holders and reserved seat holders, including those who purchased pit passes, will have their tickets honored only for the Ironman at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13.<\/p>\n<p>Fans with tickets for the Spring Classic are invited to attend the Ironman in General Admission, with their reserved tickets being honored for the nightcap.<\/p>\n<p>New customers can also attend the 3 p.m. Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55 by purchasing a Spring Classic ticket for that night.<\/p>\n<p>Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55 pit passes will be accepted for the 3 p.m. makeup only.
