Smith will spend his Labor Day weekend with his team hoping to pick up their first win of 2012 and earning the $6,000 prize up for grabs to the winner of the 150 lap event.

“The last time I think I raced atMontgomerywas probably in 2000. I was in Senoia, Georgia for a Southern All Stars Series race and it rained the race out so me and Charlie Bradberry decided we could make it in time for the race at Montgomery so we loaded up and headed that way in a hurry,” explained Smith. “It was a long weekend but I had came all the way from Texasto race and didn’t feel like just turning around and going home without having climbed behind the wheel somewhere.”

The Super Late Model 150 will be the half mile track’s first super late model event in over two years making for a wide open event according to Smith.

“They haven’t had a race there for supers atMontgomeryin quite some time, so I think it should make for a pretty good race this weekend. The door should be wide open for everyone because guys won’t have notes on how their car handles during race conditions since it’s been so long since anyone’s raced there. I know they race pro late models there in the Show Me the Money series, but a super is a different beast compared to the pros.”

Smith and company will have an hour and a half worth of practice time on Saturday to get the #99 SealMaster of Austin Chevy Impala up to speed before qualifying later that night at 6pm. That will conclude activities at the track for super late model competitors on Saturday as they return the following afternoon for a fan friendly on track autograph session at 1:30pm followed by 150 laps of green flag racing at 2pm on Sunday afternoon.

“It would be better on us if we didn’t have to spread the race over a two day period, but I understand from the track’s point of view of making the weekend a big deal to the fans in the area. I’m just ready to get back behind the wheel and race. The World Crown in July was the last time out for me so it’s been a while since I’ve gotten to race. It’s going to be nice to race at somewhere other than Pensacola and Mobile; I just hope for a fast car to make the holiday weekend of sweat and hard work worth missing out on being out on the lake or something a little easier to do,” joked Casey.

For more information on Texassuper late model driver Casey Smith and his Casey Smith Racing team visit his all new website at www.caseysmithracing.com.
