Shelby Stroebel remains undefeated while Lance Gatlin saw his win streak end last Saturday night. The other track leaders are starting to catch the top two in the national standings.<\/p>\n<p>Stroebel won his twelfth ASA Modified feature of the year last Saturday night at Meridian Speedway in Meridian, ID.\u00a0\u00a0 Going back to last season, he is on a 14-win streak.\u00a0 He has an overall average of 4.0929.<\/p>\n<p>Gatlin had his streak stopped by two-time track champion Nate Monteith last Saturday night at Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, VA. Gatlin finished second in the Limited Late Model feature event.\u00a0<!--more--> Even though his win streak came to an end, he still is not far behind Stroebel with an average of 3.8680.<\/p>\n<p>Wayne Webb continues to lead the Late Model Sportsman standings at Newport Motor Speedway in Newport, TN.\u00a0 He is not that far behind Gatlin in the national standings as he has an average of 3.8336.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Slone picked up another feature win in the ASA Late Model division at Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, MO.\u00a0 He had a rough month of July but has turned that around in August.\u00a0 He has an average of 3.7320.<\/p>\n<p>Dustin Rumley finished second to Barry Beggarly last Friday night in the Late Model feature at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC.\u00a0 He still holds on to the points lead in a tight battle over Rodney Cook and Beggarly.\u00a0 He is also in the hunt for the national title with an average of 3.2591.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Hale\u2019s sixth place finish helps maintain a healthy point lead in the Maverik Modified standings over Mark Ith Jr. and Lynn Hardy.\u00a0 He is sixth overall in the national standings with an average of 3.0446.\u00a0 Hale is slowly catching the top-five.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Mackesy holds a four-point lead over Mark Eswein in the Super Late Model standings at State Park Speedway in Wausau, WI.\u00a0 He has a national average of 2.6826 with some big events coming up at the Wimmer owned facility.<\/p>\n<p>Kyle Borden and his fellow ASA Modified drivers will be in action at the end of the month at Shasta Speedway in Anderson, CA.\u00a0 He has a national average of 1.3704.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of our ASA Member Tracks have tight point battles that could change the landscape for the National Championship,\u201d Dennis Huth, ASA President said.\u00a0 \u201cMany will want to focus on chasing down Shelby Stroebel for the national title, but they need to keep their eye close to home and win their track championship first.\u00a0 The next few weeks are going to be stressful for those in contention.\u00a0 It can also create some great racing at all of our ASA Member Tracks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the season, drivers competing in the premiere divisions at eligible ASA Member Tracks are in the running for the 2012 ASA Member Track National Championship.\u00a0 In order to have a chance for the national title, a driver must first win their 2012 track championship.<\/p>\n<p>Speednetdirect.com, for the fifth year in a row, will tabulate the National Championship standings.\u00a0 Using a proprietary formula that creates an average based on wins, finishing positions, number of cars passed, car counts and events.\u00a0 The driver who wins their track championship and has the highest average over the other ASA Member Track champions will win the 2012 ASA Member Track National Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Full standings are available at <a href=\"http:\/\/asa-racing.us2.list-manage1.com\/track\/click?u=9f73fc9dffafcff398c3c629c&amp;id=b9fa014ae0&amp;e=63e7a79a0c\">www.speednetdirect.com<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 Click on the ASA Member Track logo at the top of the page.<br \/>\nTo learn more about the ASA Member Tracks and Sanctioned Series in your area, please visit <a href=\"http:\/\/asa-racing.us2.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=9f73fc9dffafcff398c3c629c&amp;id=690e5013e0&amp;e=63e7a79a0c\">www.asa-racing.com<\/a>.
