David Showers, Jr. jumped to the lead from pole with his father (David Showers), JO Nobles, and Forrest Gough in tow. A few minor cautions happened early which kept the likes of Shane Koperda, Denica Hetznecker, and Caleb and Christian McGillivray in the mix. On lap 8 Scotty Williams, who had shot up from 6th to 3rd moments before, broke the 27 and brought a caution out. That yellow flag allowed anyone who wanted to get tear-offs do so without penalty- only “Rowdy” Denica Hetznecker would take the offer. On the restart it became clear that father would allow his boy to take the lead uncontested so as to put Showers Chassis in Coors Light Victory Lane. The plan worked until with half a lap to go Ricky Land plowed into the wall. A 1 lap tussle would ensue with the son up front, father in 2nd, and JO Nobles watching in 3rd. Junior handled the toughest task and took the win with Senior 2nd, JO Nobles 3rd, Shane Koperda 4th, and Christian McGillivray 5th.

Hobby Stocks would go after it next with Tim Powers up front from outside pole. On lap 5 Mike Stalnaker had troubles and the 9 car found the wall. Stalnaker bounced off and made contact with Devin Walker who got some air after contact in the right rear. Trevor Gamble had nowhere to go and made heavy contact with Stalnaker- both walked away; their cars did not. Powers would lead “Ragin” Rodney Wright and “Shady” Grady Christian to the flag with 15 to go. On lap 12 Tom Sheehan, in his first competitive Hobby Stock race, smacked the wall in his 75 forcing a yellow flag. With just a lap to go “Ragin” Rodney shredded the right rear forcing the caution. Powers would have to hold off “Shady” Grady, Robert Sirmons in the drive of his season, Devin Walker, and Jeff Rodgers. In the end there was no stopping Powers as he dominated the field. “Shady” Grady accepted 2nd with Trey Cameron, III 3rd, Scott Haas 4th, and Sean Monaghan 5th. After review Robert Sirmons was reinstated to 3rd and Jeff Rodgers 4th as it was deemed that they were innocent in the final caution. Scott Haas would finish 5th while Devin Walker was put to the tail-end of the lead lap.

The Scorpion Racing Products Modifieds put on a wonderful show with “The Killer” Kyle Bronson leading from outside pole. On lap 2, however, Dalton Lanich spun on the backstretch forcing a caution flag to be thrown. On lap 4, as he ran 5th. Rich Pratt blew the motor on the #78. Up front, however, it was Bronson, “4-Time” Jeff Mathews, and Scott Kurtzner. On lap 14 Dalton Lanich went off-roading and when he came back on track it forced Reed Withers into a spin and Barry Sheffield went with him. Bronson would lead Mathews and Ivedent Lloyd, Jr. with 11 to go. Lloyd rocketed past “4-Time” only to have the 33L break moments later. With 4 to go Lanich had the right rear go down leaving Bronson to hold off Mathews and Bubba Christian in a spectacular run for driver #04. Only “The Killer” could stop himself and he wanted the trophy so he took it. Mathews, Christian, Kent Corbin, and Gary Sexton completed the top 5.

1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stock competitors put it all on the line and early on Jason Gamble slapped the wall. On lap 9 Jonathan Appleby blew a right front putting him to the back. On lap 18 Alan Lane, while fighting for 5th, blew a tire and hit the wall. A 2 lap dash saw Robert Ray hold on with Bubba Durbin, Brian Mullins, Jeff Stalnaker, Jr., and Appleby in the top 5.

The Rent-N-Roll Gladiators ended a great night of racing as Brandon Haseleu jumped to an early lead. On lap 4 Bobby Graham nosed the 126 into the turn 4 wall ending his night early. Brandon Haseleu would end the drought and complete the toughest task as he took home the 25-lapper. “Rockin” Reid Christensen would take 2nd, ½ a lap behind, with Steve Johnson, Jordan McMillon, and Brian Thorpe the only other drivers on the lead lap.

Next week is the Florida State Thunder Stock Championship! They will race both Friday and Saturday night as will the RaceCar Engineering Late Models.
