{"id":12565,"date":"2012-07-30T17:07:45","date_gmt":"2012-07-30T17:07:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/?p=12565"},"modified":"2012-07-30T17:07:45","modified_gmt":"2012-07-30T17:07:45","slug":"benjamin-becomes-youngest-arcacra-super-series-winner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/front-page-news\/benjamin-becomes-youngest-arcacra-super-series-winner\/","title":{"rendered":"Benjamin Becomes Youngest ARCA\/CRA Super Series Winner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-12566\" title=\"bilde\" src=\"https:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/bilde.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"450\" \/>Clermont, IN (July 27, 2012)<\/strong> &#8211; Boris Jurkovic and Erik Darnell led the field to the green flag to start the Fatheadz 100 presented by Team Construction at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. 100 laps later 14 year old Kyle Benjamin became the youngest driver to win an ARCA\/CRA Super Series event in dominating fashion as he beat back a challenge from Kenzie Ruston near the half way mark to win by 1.407 seconds.\u00a0 Ruston finished second, Travis Sauter third, Daniel Hamric fourth and Terry Fisher, Jr fifth.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Winning here means a lot to me.&#8221; Benjamin stated. &#8220;I always watched the races from here on tv. I didn&#8217;t think I had anything for them at the beginning, but it played into my hands some.&#8221;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Darnell took the lead on the first lap, but after an early caution Jurkovic passed for the lead when he and Darnell touched sending Jurkovic into the wall on the front stretch as he slowed keeping his car from spinning a pile up behind the leaders ended the night for several drivers.\u00a0 Jurkovic took his injured car to the pits.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Campbell then drove to the front taking the lead on the 25<sup>th<\/sup> lap when he and Darnell spun in the second turn after Campbell took the lead.
