(7\/23\/12) \u2013 After the action-packed Jeff\u2019s Auto Sales 150 at Newport Tennessee two weeks ago, the UARA-STARS are coming back to the Carolinas for the <strong>Racing Electronics 150<\/strong> at Caraway Speedway Saturday July 28<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0\u00a0 This will be round one of a UARA triple header.\u00a0 Following the Caraway event this weekend, the STARS will follow that up with a race at Concord on August 4 and then turn right around for an event at Tri County on August 10th.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-12485\" title=\"28 Travis Swaim-04 Ronnie Bassett Jr AMS DH photo\" src=\"https:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/28-Travis-Swaim-04-Ronnie-Bassett-Jr-AMS-DH-photo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"176\" \/>Caraway Speedway has not been on the UARA schedule since 2008 at which time Rookie Darrell Wallace Jr. won his only UARA event.\u00a0 Wallace continued his season to win the UARA Rookie of the Year title.\u00a0 The first visit to the 13 degree banking asphalt oval was in November 2007 in a controversial event full of excitement, hot tempers and the UARA championship on the line.<!--more-->\u00a0 The championship was down to the wire between Ross Furr,\u00a0 Mark Setzer and B.J. Mackey.\u00a0 Furr came home as Champion and Mackey claimed the Caraway win.<\/p>\n<p>Several rookie drivers like Ben Rhodes, Jake Morris, and Sean Rayhall are all looking to add their name to the list of first-time winners at Caraway. Tyler Laing, Devin Jones, and Brandon Jones also sit in the top-ten in the championship points, and are hoping for their first win as well.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-12487\" title=\"Travis Swaim  Miss UARA Brittany Poe HMS2 DH Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Travis-Swaim-Miss-UARA-Brittany-Poe-HMS2-DH-Photo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"392\" \/>Current point leader and local hero Travis Swaim is making his first UARA visit to his hometown track at Caraway. It will give the fans a good look at what great progress the four time track Champion is making with the series and show he still has the talent they know him for.\u00a0 Swaim came close to his first UARA win during the last event at Newport Speedway on July 14th.\u00a0 Swaim started on the pole, but lost the battle as Ronnie Bassett Jr. took the win for Team Dillon Motorsports while subbing for driver Tim George Jr.<\/p>\n<p>Swaim had a decent lead and then a lapped car came into play on the final few circuits.\u00a0\u00a0 With a three wide finish at the line Bassett came home victor with Chad Finchum and Swaim flat footing it on either side up to his doors.\u00a0 It was one tremendous effort by all three drivers that had the fans on their feet yelling their lungs out.\u00a0 It was nothing short of amazing.<\/p>\n<p>Bassett Jr. and his team have worked long hours to return to Caraway with his own race car for the July 28th event.\u00a0 The team had a practice day on July 20th to shake the car down.\u00a0 The 04 machine had been out of commission since being involved in an accident that has been deemed &#8220;The Big One&#8221; June 16th\u00a0 at Newport Speedway.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers making their way back to the UARA after some time off\u00a0 will be Garrett Campbell, Taylor Stricklin, Sammy Jasper, David Garbo Jr. and the South Carolina Burns brothers Jeremy and Will.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the event are just $20 for adults, $5 for students( ages 7-14), and kids 6 and under get in free.<\/p>\n<p>For fans that are not able to make it to the .45 mile asphalt track in North Carolina, be sure to watch it LIVE at MotorSportsBroadcasting.com for no more than $15.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the UARA-STARS Caraway visit them online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uara-stars.com\/\">www.uara-stars.com<\/a>\u00a0 or visit <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">www.carawayspeedway.com <\/span>.\u00a0 Fans are also encouraged to \u201clike\u201d them on Facebook under the United Auto Racing Association and follow them on Twitter @uarastars.<\/p>\n<p><em>Press Release by: Kassie Hughes<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hendersonville, N.C.
