\u00a0It was another wonderful night for racing in Tampa Bay as fans packed the grandstand at East Bay Raceway Park.\u00a0 Over 100 cars were on hand for a pre-Easter joy ride around the fastest dirt track in the South.<\/p>\n

\u00a0The Street Stocks were the first class to hit the track for their 15-lap feature event.\u00a0 Donnie Reed and Gary Sheffield had an awesome battle for the lead as the laps wound down.\u00a0 Reed was able to make a pass for the lead as Sheffield and Ed Hill were fighting for position.\u00a0 Reed held off James Hook for the win.\u00a0 The win was Reed\u2019s 3rd<\/sup> of the young season.\u00a0 Hook finished 2nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 Thomas Pratt came home in the 3rd<\/sup> position.\u00a0 Jarod Gay fought off early troubles and finished 4th<\/sup> and Kevin Silvia hung on for a 5th<\/sup> place finish.\u00a0 Reed and Hook won the heats.<\/p>\n

\u00a0The East Bay Sprints were up next and Gene Lasker was the man to beat.\u00a0 Lasker started 4th<\/sup> and was in the lead by the end of the 1st<\/sup> lap.\u00a0 Lasker drove away from the field and won the race in convincing fashion.\u00a0\u00a0 Danny Martin, Jr started 5th<\/sup> and finished 2nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 Tony Agin finished 3rd<\/sup>.\u00a0 Rocky Sullivan and Tim George rounded out the top-5.\u00a0 AJ Maddox and Tim George were victorious in the heats.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Matthew Haynes won his first feature event of the season in the Outlaw 4\u2019s holding off the late charge of Michael Gulvin.\u00a0 Gulvin finished 2nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 Cecil Martin started the main event in the 9th<\/sup> position and battled his way to a 3rd<\/sup> place finish.\u00a0 Billy Howard ran in the top-5 all night long and finished 4th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Charlie Staats started on the pole and finished 5th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Haynes and Gulvin won the heats.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Twenty Racecar Engineering Late Models took the green flag in their 25-lap feature event.\u00a0 Jack Nosbisch, Jr. won the race as he held off the challenge of Bryan Bernhardt to take his first win of the season. Bernhardt finished 2nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 Wallace Peacock started on the pole and finished 3rd<\/sup>.\u00a0 Travis Varnadore started 8th<\/sup> and finished 4th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Mavrick Varnadore started 14th<\/sup> came home with a strong 5th<\/sup> place finish.\u00a0 Dennis Williams, Roger Crouse, and Nosbisch won the heat races.<\/p>\n

\u00a0In the Motorstats.com 4 cylinder bombers thirty-two cars started the feature event.\u00a0 Roberto Morfin, Sr. started 5th<\/sup> and swapped the lead with Elliot Morgan for many of the 15 laps.\u00a0 Morfin, Sr. was victorious as he took the checkered flag by a slim margin over Morgan. Morgan finished 2nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 Raymond Vann battled early for the lead and finished 3rd<\/sup>.\u00a0 Roberto Morfin, Jr. started 8th<\/sup> and finished 4th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Gary Killeen started on the pole and raced to a 5th<\/sup> place finish.\u00a0 Red Vann appeared to have a 4th<\/sup> place finish but was disqualified in post race inspection.\u00a0 Dalton Epps, Morgan and Killeen took the heat races.<\/p>\n

\u00a0ASA Sanctioned racing returns to East Bay Raceway Park on Saturday, April 10, 2010 with the Limted Late Models, Gagel\u2019s Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks, Outlaw 4\u2019s, Motorstats.com 4 cylinder bombers and Dirt Daubers all in action.\u00a0 There will also be fan participation races..
