{"id":1069,"date":"2010-03-30T20:50:47","date_gmt":"2010-03-30T20:50:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/?p=1069"},"modified":"2010-03-30T20:50:47","modified_gmt":"2010-03-30T20:50:47","slug":"daugherty-wins-sun-state-collision-center-35-lap-feature","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/race-results\/daugherty-wins-sun-state-collision-center-35-lap-feature\/","title":{"rendered":"Daugherty Wins Sun State Collision Center 35 Lap Feature"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>by Scott McAllister<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>March 29, 2010 Lake City, Fl \u2013 Columbia Motorsports Park fans were treated to a great night of racing which included the newly formed Queen Bees, the V-8 Bombers, the Pure Stocks, the Sportsman, and featured the Hornet Division for the Sun State Collision Center 35 Lap A-Main Event.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the V-8 Bomber Division, AC Morrow was strong throughout the event, but Shawn DeSotle took advantage of a miscue off turn 2 to take over the lead and take home the win.\u00a0 Morrow finished 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, Andy Nichols 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, Derek Davis 4<sup>th<\/sup> and Nathan Huffingham 5<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Mike Parsell won Heat Race 1 and Shawn DeSotle also won Heat Race 2.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Sun State Collision Center 35 Lap Feature Event was next for the Hornet Division and the early points leader Bert Daugherty left nothing to chance as he battled his way through the field and finished far in advance of 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Place Todd Brown.\u00a0 Mark Copeland, Donald Davis and mark Sloan rounded out the top 5.\u00a0 Daugherty and Brown also won their respective heat races.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tough side-by-side racing was featured in the Pure Stock A-Main.\u00a0 Randy O\u2019Neal came out on top for his 1<sup>st<\/sup> win of the 2010 racing season while Jason Garver crossed the stripe 2<sup>nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 Championship Points Leader Tim Alldredge finished 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, Todd Brown 4<sup>th<\/sup> and Jason Kite rounded out the top 5.\u00a0 O\u2019Neal also won Heat Race 1 and Alldredge won Heat Race 2.<\/p>\n<p>The Sportsman Division drivers left nothing on the track after their A-Main event.\u00a0 #21 Sean Monaghan battled Wesley Keller in the #8 machine while Shelton Bowers and Oral Tanner went side-by side for several laps, bringing the crowd to their feet.\u00a0 Marty Wood crossed the stripe 1<sup>st<\/sup> in front of Wesley Keller, last year\u2019s Track Champion Jeff Prescott, Sean Monaghan and Shelton Bowers.\u00a0 Wood was later DQ\u2019d during post-race inspection and Keller was awarded the victory.\u00a0 Prescott, Monaghan and Bowers all moved up 1 spot in the finishing order and allowed Brian Hull to pick up a 5<sup>th<\/sup> place finish.<\/p>\n<p>Kimberly Alldredge won the inaugural Queen Bee Division Feature Event, finishing in front of the 1H of Beverly Henault and the 69 of Alice Copeland.\u00a0 Alldredge was also the winner of the Queen Bee Heat Race.<\/p>\n<p>Cody Glenn from Lake Butler was the winner of our Fan participation race in his 1994 Honda Del Sol.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Racing resumes at Columbia Motorsports Park Saturday, April 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, 2010 at 7:30pm.\u00a0 The racing program will include a 50 Lap Sportsman Division Feature Event along with the Pure Stocks, V-8 Bombers, Hornets and the always popular \u201cFan Participation races.\u201d\u00a0 For more information call the track office at 386-752-8811, or visit us on the web at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.columbiamotorsportspark.org\">www.columbiamotorsportspark.org<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div>SPORTSMAN<\/div>\n<div>1. #8 Wesley Keller<br \/>\n2. #07 Jeff Prescott<br \/>\n3. #21 Sean Monaghan<br \/>\n4. #32 Shelton Bowers<br \/>\n5. #16 Brian Hull<br \/>\n6. #14 Oral Tanner<br \/>\n7. #76 Jim Higginbotham<br \/>\n8. #06 Josh Wise<br \/>\n9. #33 Eric Law<br \/>\nDQ #13 Marty Wood<br \/>\nDNS #11 John Mitchell<\/div>\n<div>PURE STOCK<\/div>\n<div>1. #22 Randy O&#8217;Neal<br \/>\n2. #12 Jason Garver<br \/>\n3. #39 Tim Alldredge<br \/>\n4. #98 Todd Brown<br \/>\n5. #7k Jason Kight<br \/>\nDNS #96 Don Cruce<\/div>\n<div>V8 BOMBERS<\/div>\n<div>1. #7Shawn DeSotle<br \/>\n2. #3 A.C.
