NASCAR Drivers Help Race For Kids Sake | The Second Annual Race for Kids Sake has been scheduled for January l6th at New Smyrna Speedway. This annual benefit is put on by the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Volusia County, a not-for-profit community service organization dedicated to providing adult friendships to children who need positive role models and mentors. Big Brothers/Big Sisters gives single parent children the emotional support and guidance needed for the child to mature into a healthy and productive adult.
Six NASCAR drivers have given the green flag to be on hand for the race. Kyle Petty, John Andretti, Buckshot Jones, Ward Burton, Dave Blaney and Johnny Benson will race a 15 lap race in local Late Model cars for the fans. A few other drivers may also be in the line-up so surprises will be on the menu for the night.
After the 15 lap race, the drivers will cross over the track to the grandstands and sign autographs for all the fans. There will also be racing in the Mini-Stocks, Super Stocks and Modifieds. There will be no purses for these divisions as this night is to raise money for kids but all drivers and one crew member will get into the track free that night.
Every cent of the money raised thru the Race for Kids Sake will go to these kids. Grandstand tickets will be $15.00 and racing will start at 7:30 P.M. And remember to bring your autograph book, favorite poster or car and come see the STARS OF NASCAR.
