(KNS) October 19--KARNAC.com learned late Wednesday, "a reward of $1000.00 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person or persons who caused severe injury to Kevin McMullan." McMullan, 33, was severely beaten in the infield pits immediately after Saturday night’s Governor’s Cup race. He is currently at home recovering. Doctors have said there is a possibility McMullan will have permanent loss of sight in his right eye. He was found bleeding profusely and semi-conscious from head injuries; after being treated at the scene by Volusia County Medical personnel, he was transported to Halifax Hospital. McMullan also suffered a concussion, severe abrasions, stitches to his face and broken teeth. Anyone with information on the case is being urged to call Dennis Craig with the State Attorney’s Office at 904-424-2900.
Several different benefits to help the McMullan family with medical bills are in the works in the very near future. Bill Green of Short Track USA is working on incorporating help for McMullan into benefits already being planned to assist drivers in need.
