Orr Masters Orange Blossom 100

A wet track and worn out tires were not enough to stop Pete Orr from making history by winning the Orange Blossom 100 for the fourth time! Orr was in contention all night as he battled first Michael Williams for the lead and later David Rogers. Orr put his RaceCar College black #30 Monte Carlo in the lead on lap 33 and stayed there until David Rogers passed on the bottom in his new #11 Dodge. Rogers and Orr fought a tough battle until Rogers' control arm broke on lap 58 sending him hard into the turn #3 wall. Orr regained the lead and struggled to hold off Williams, Jack Cook and James Powell to the finish. This was one of the best races we have witnessed in a long time. After a series of spins and wrecks, the top five were...#30 Pete Orr, #37 James Powell, #88 Travis Kittleson, #99 Bobby McClelland & #27 Mike Good.

Limited Late Models: Mike Murphy's Central Florida Septic #26 was the strongest contender in this big field as he ook the lead early and never looked back. Chris Lawrence made contact with several cars on his way to a second place finish, while newcomer Billy Barnwell in the #96 was third.

Modified: Robert Hollywood Ham started on the pole in the R. Ann Racing #52 and drove away with this one. The best battles were for second on back as Tim Laurent's #32 tried to hold off a hard charging Tom Root in the #19 and Mike Fritz's Korpe #112. Wayne Parker #3 got around Laurent for fourth at the stripe. The Mods will race all nine nights of Speedweeks.

Sportsman: This one was a wreckfest. Jon Harney looked to have the fastest car early, but the #45 made contact with another car and was sent to the rear. This let Ron Lufcy's #07 and Brian Hollifield's #31 to battle side by side for the win. Hollifield was the eventual winner, the next four spots were: Lufcy, Love, Belflower and Winter Series Point Champ Doug Samion.

Mini Stock: Steve Griffin won the Winter Series and jumped in his red #3 to win tonight's feature also! Jimmy Wear drove a good race in his #1 Ford but settled for second. Clint Foley, Tim Clark and Martin Pierce rounded out the top five.

Super Stock: This was another great race with a big field of cars. Rick "Captain" Picard put on another great show in his white #9 Monte Carlo to take his second win in a row. Tom Root held off Dano Winnett for second, Homer Gordon and Kevin Schultz rounded out the top five.

Strictly Stock: Seven wild drivers piled into their brightly painted hot rods and proceeded to tear up the track...it was the usual night of Strictly Stock racing. Joe Williams put on an exciting run to pass everybody for the $20 donated prize and trophy!
