Southeast Dirt Tour 2000 Event Postponed | Racing action for this weekend's "Speedweek 2000" opening event has been postponed as of yesterday, as a winter storm up and down the East coast snowed many of the competitors in, not allowing them to travel to North Florida.
The Southeast Motorsports Dirt Late Model Tour 2000, was to kick off the season at Jax Raceways with a one day, $5,000 to win Super Late Model event, that had promises from a stellar group of competitors coming in for their share of the $22,000 totalpurse. "Our series is a regional traveling series", says Timmy Carter, president of Southeast Motorsports, "and our drivers have to be able to travel from all over the Southeast to get to the events. The snow storms up and down the east coast, as well as the threat of rain showers here in Jacksonville, was going to be detrimental to the events success. Therefore we were forced to reschedule the event for early February".
The exact date as of yet has not been decided, but will be released soon. Practice that was scheduled for Friday at Jax Raceways, has also been cancelled until further notice.
