: I would like to ask you to consider something, for this weekends NOV 20th. I my self am canceling the Charity Challenge. It would not be appropriate at this time, to try and be upbeat about doing for outside charities, what we need to do for our own. The cry I've heard through all the tears, is we must do something. Well, let us do what we can. I suggest a memorial fund be set up for donations to help the family through the immediate needs, and then it can become a fund for his son's future. We should consider canceling racing on NOV 20th and opening the gates for a Memorial Service to aid in the healing process that his family, his friends, and spectators need. Pastor Johnston could do wonderful things to help bring a spiritual light back into racing in Bill's honor. Lastly I would also like to see the last Fig 8 race of every season be a "10" Lap race called the WILD BILL REVARD MEMORIAL. I will make sure that Short Track USA and it's sponsors, help in this endeavor. Next year at the Winter Nationals, we need also to retire the #10 from Competition and I will help pay for a billboard, dedicating next year to this well loved and admired man.

As I read through the messages posted on this board I cannot discount the feelings of Wild Bill's compatriots and fellow racers. Yes, this is a very difficult time for the drivers, promoters, fans and especially the Revard family. However, I think that a man such as William Revard with his competitive spirit and love of racing would insist that the races go on on Nov. 20. Not only would Bill want this to happen it will allow Bill's fans a moment of closure. I never thought for a moment that Sunshine would cancel the events of November 20 and looked forward to the opportunity for the fans to show their grief at this terrible loss and to show our support for the Revard family. Please allow the fans of Wild Bill Revard and ALL racing fans this privilege.
