Auburndale Speedway will ring out the old year in style Thursday night with a special New Years Eve Crash N’ Bash followed by a big party to ring in 2010.

Fans will be treated to four racing events: A big Enduro race, School Bus Figure Eight racing, Pro Figure Eight Racing and a big Demolition Derby.

The entry fee for the Enduro has been cut to $50 for this event to make it more affordable for the competitors. All entry fee money will be used to pay the winner while the track will also pay second and third place. The Enduro is open to all 4, 6 and 8 cylinder cars, however no Street Stock or Bomber style cars are permitted.

The Demolition Derby will pay all competitors a minimum of $100 just to take the green which should ensure a big field and plenty of School Bus Figure Eights are already entered.

A cold front is expected to move in late Thursday but the timing of the rain associated with it appears to now be around midnight after all the events have been completed although track owner Rex Guy says it won’t make any difference as the events will go on regardless followed by a big party afterwards featuring a DJ with music and plenty of food and drink (including $2.00 beers) to ring in the new year.

“We just want to provide a fun atmosphere for folks to come out and bring in the new year,” says Guy. “I might even have a few surprises for the drivers too,”  he adds.

Racing action begins at 7PM. During the evening, Lindsay’s Little Racers will be giving away a pair of bicycles to a couple of  lucky kids.

Free overnight camping will be available as well.
