Summer Nationals to Join Mars Late Model DIRTcar Series at Springfield Raceway

Event Rescheduled for Sept. 17 Following Rain out this Week

070216SpringfieldRescheduleGraphicSPRINGFIELD, Mo. – July 2, 2016 – The rained out Summer Nationals event at Springfield Raceway, originally scheduled for June 30, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17 in a special event that will pair the tour with the Mars Late Model DIRTcar Series.

The event, sponsored by Greenlawn Funeral Home, will be a combined show and marks the first time the Summer Nationals has joined the Mars Late Models.

“We are glad to have the opportunity to return to Springfield Raceway and excited to join the Mars Late Models for this special event,” said DIRTcar’s Sam Driggers.

All pit armbands purchased for the Summer Nationals event on June 30 will be honored for the makeup event or for any event at Springfield Raceway.

MARS Ready For Thunderfest II

The 2nd annual “Thunder Fest Late Model Shootout ” at Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, Oklahoma which is highlighted by the and MARS DIRTcar Series and Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS), which will take place Friday and Saturday night, September 28-29, 2012.

The modified division feature winner both nights have a potential payout of $2500. Both Friday and Saturday nights feature finales will pay $1000 to win for the modifieds. Thanks to York Street Tires, any driver who can win both nights features will take home an extra $500. But modifieds aren’t the only support divisions that will be competing both nights as the street stocks, 360/b-mods and pure stocks will also be competing. The street stocks will be competing for $300 to win and $50 to start both nights with the top three average finishers will earn an extra $50 thanks to Gone Phone Wild. 360/b-mods will also be competing for $300 to win with $50 to start both nights’ features while the pure stocks will be competing for $150 to win, $40 to start both nights. LP Memorial Up Next For MARS

By Ronnie Williams – Springfield, MO.- The racing action at the “Quick Quarter” of the Springfield Raceway will be back in high gear Saturday Night September 15th with the running of the 12th Annual Larry Phillips Memorial featuring the MLRA and MARS Super Late Models as the speedway pays honor to the Springfield “Living Legend” Larry Phillips as Joplin’s Home Pro Improvement Store will be the event sponsor for the second straight year. Rain Date will be Saturday September 22nd.

This will be the 4th round of Super Late Model Dirt Racing action at the Springfield Raceway this season between the two Regional Late model Sanctions as there has yet to be a repeat feature winner.

Defending event and MLRA Champion John Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska will be leading a star studded field of cars featuring current MARS Series point leader Jesse “The Undertaker” Stovall, Tony Jackson Jr., Mark Dotson, Justin Asplin, Former Turkey classic winners Justin Wells, Ken “The Flying Farmer” Essary, Brandon Morton, 3 time event winner Terry Phillips of Springfield, and many more of the top Dirt Late Model Drivers in the 4 State and Regional Area. Stovall Unstoppable at Monett

Monett, MO (September 2, 2012) – Jesse Stovall of Republic, MO picked up a big one Sunday at Monett Speedway.  Stovall entered his name in the record books as he won the 42nd Annual 4-State Dirt Track Championship and the $4,000 top prize.  Stovall, the MARS point leader, started on the pole and led every lap of the 35 lap feature.  A record crowd was in attendance to watch the historic race, including 40 late models and one of the biggest car counts in recent memory, 153 cars.

Stovall withstood several challenges from 6-time MARS Champion Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO and Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR as he worked through lap traffic masterfully enroute to his sixth feature win with the MARS series this year. (more…)

MARS Headlines 4-State at Monett

The MARS DIRTcar Series returns to its home track this Sunday September 2nd for the biggest race of the year, the 42nd Annual 4-State Dirt Track Championships at the Monett Speedway in Monett, MO.

With a top prize of $4,000 awaiting the winner, the top driver’s from the Midwest are expected to be in attendance.  Including 6-time MARS champion Terry Phillips, current MARS point leader Jesse Stovall, Tony Jackson Jr., Brandon McCormick, Justin Asplin, Leroy Johnson, Brandon Morton, Patrick Johnson, Justin Wells, Ken Essary, Dustin Mooneyham plus many more.

This race is always a sell-out and fans are encouraged to get there early to reserve their seat for this prestigious event.  Grandstand gates will open at 5:00pm, Hotlaps at 7:00pm and Racing scheduled to begin at 7:30pm.  Adult admission is $20, Juniors 12 – 15 are $5 and Kids 11 and under are FREE.  Also on the race card will be the Modifieds, B-Mods, Factory Stocks, Pro 4’s and Pure Stocks.
