ARCA/CRA Super Series Ready to Battle at Anderson Speedway Saturday

AndersonSalem, IN (April 22, 2014) – The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will return to action this Saturday night at Anderson Speedway, the famous high-banked quarter mile racetrack located in Anderson, Indiana, has hosted more Super Series events than any other track since the series’ first ever event on Saturday, April 26, 1997. Anderson Speedway has hosted a total of 54 series events to date. Former two time series champion Brian Ross is the all-time series victory leader at Anderson Speedway with nine victories.

This will be the only opportunity for the ARCA/CRA Super Series teams to get some racing on the tight quarter mile prior to the prestigious Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300, which has been moved for the 2014 season to Saturday, June 14th.

Georgia hot shoe T.J. Reaid is entered and looks to claim his third straight Anderson Properties 125 Presented by Great Deals Coupon Magazine after winning the event in 2012 and 2013. Reaid was not only the winner of those two events, but was also the EDCO Welding Fast Qualifier at each one, showing he definitely knows how to get around the fast quarter mile. (more…)

Zaxby’s Becomes Title Sponsor of SpeedFest 2014

Watermelon LogoSalem, IN (January 14, 2014) – Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials have announced that Zaxby’s restaurant chain has agreed to be the title sponsor of SpeedFest 2014, which will be held on Saturday, January 25th and Sunday, January 26th at Watermelon Capital Speedway located in Cordele, Georgia.

Entries continue to arrive daily for the Zaxby’s SpeedFest 2014. Additional entries for the SpeedFest 200 ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS Super Late Model event include NASCAR Nationwide Series competitor Dakoda Armstrong and NASCAR Camping World Truck competitor John Wes Townley, who will both drive cars for famed crew chief Richie Wauters.

Trent Snyder, who had three career wins, all at near-by Anderson Speedway coming into the weekend, proved that he’s just as stout on the bigger track as the Glen Ellyn, Illinois driver behind the wheel of his #88 Medwest Associates / Chevrolet started on the pole and led all 100 laps while fighting off current Points Leader, Cody Coughlin over the last 60 laps, to score his fourth career victory in the series and second win of 2013 in only three starts.

“This is amazing. The car was wicked loose for most of the race and it was all I could do to hold off Cody (Coughlin), man is he strong.” The 29-year-old originally from Ironton, Minnesota stated in victory lane. “After the last caution with about 20 to go, I decided to move down to the bottom and the car just came to life. We had been running the top the whole night, that’s where you’re supposed to run here. But we went low and the car was so good after that. This event race originally scheduled for near-by Dixie Motor Speedway, located eight miles north of Auto City in Birch Run, Michigan but was moved to Auto City.

Even with the change in venue, Current ARCA/CRA Super Series Points Leader, 19-year-old Travis Braden proved to everyone that he is the man to beat in the chase for the 2013 Championship as he took the lead from JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Points Leader, 17-year-old Cody Coughlin, who was making only his second career ARCA/CRA start, on lap 34 and from there, Braden pulled away to a dominating Win, his second of the season, in his #01 West Virginia University / Chevrolet. Big Double Header Weekend on tap for the ARCA/CRA Super Series

dixie-shows3Salem, IN (August 13, 2013) – For the first time since the 2006 season the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will have a Double Header Weekend, this coming weekend, with an event at Auto City Speedway on Friday, August 16thand an event on Saturday, August 17th at Flat Rock Speedway. Friday night will be the first ever series event at Auto City Speedway, which hosted the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour last Saturday night. Friday’s event was originally scheduled to take place at Dixie Motor Speedway, but was moved to Auto City Speedway by Dixie Motor Speedway promoter Mike Kern.

Friday’s 3rd annual Mid-Michigan Toyota Dealers 125 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series is part of the ‘Big One XI’, which will also feature racing action from the Auto Value Super Sprint Series. Saturday’s 7-UP 125 will be the series second ever event at the ARCA owned quarter mile. Last season’s 7-UP 125 was an exciting event that saw Scott Hantz get the win after having to go to the tail of the field after a spin early in the event. Hantz and Johnny VanDoorn battled throughout the closing stages of the event after VanDoorn also pitted and came from the tail to finish second to Hantz.

Topping the list of top series regulars who are entered for both events is current series point’s leader Travis Braden, who has one series event win in 2013 at Winchester Speedway. Other top CRA drivers entered for both events include Kenny Tweedy, Rick Turner, Jay Niewiek, Nick Gullatta, Brett Robinson and Bret Miles Jr. in Tim Bennett’s #21 car. The top two Boyne Machine Rookie of the Year candidates Ali Kern and Brandon Oakley are also entered for both events. Two drivers will make there series debuts this weekend and are entered for both events including Brandon Tweedy, the nephew of Kenny Tweedy, in a Muller Motorsports car and Kevin Zielezinski who will be a teammate to Ali Kern in a Lorz Motorsports car. Brian Campbell Breaks Through At Home Track For First ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered By JEGS Win Of 2013

Scores 11th career ARCA/CRA Triumph and Fifth at Berlin Raceway

20campbelltrophyMarne, Michigan (Saturday, August 3, 2013): The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS made a return visit to the fast and tricky 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval of Berlin Raceway, located west of Grand Rapids in Marne, Michigan on Saturday, August 3rd and it was a familiar face standing in victory lane as Brian Campbell broke through at his home track by scoring his first victory of the season in the Tri-State Car Collector Appraisers 125 Presented by T.A.A.G. Incorporated on Duck Dynasty Night at the track featuring cast members from the hit television show on the A&E Network, Willie & Korie Robertson as well as Justin Martin who served as Grand Marshals for the entire night.

In 15 career ARCA/CRA appearances at Berlin, Campbell has accounted for 1/3 of the wins as he scored his fifth career triumph at his home track and 11th overall of his ARCA/CRA Super Series career. “We were really good all day long. We weren’t showing all of our cards until we passed Travis (Braden) for the lead, then I wanted to get as far away from everyone as possible.” The Wyoming, Michigan driver stated in victory lane surrounded by family and members of his team. “We’ve been struggling a little bit this year, but this definitely feels good to get back to where we belong.” The driver of the #20 KBR Development / Ford added.

After two rain delays totaling over three hours in length and at the end of the evening, the 24th different winner in the tracks storied history emerged as 19-year-old Travis Braden, the 2012 Rookie of the Year, retook the lead from Inaugural Series Champion from the 1997 season, Kenny Tweedy on lap 31 and then the Wheeling, West Virginia driver in his #01 West Virginia University / Chevrolet held off 15-year-old Kyle Benjamin as well as a late charge from Terry Fisher Jr., to pick up his first career ARCA/CRA victory.
