5-14-12 – After a wild and tumble event at Auburndale Speedway, which saw some banging but yet some real good racing, the series heads to Citrus County Speedway for race three.
Jessica Murphy would take the big win at Auburndale after starting 7th on the grid. She made some good moves and took advantage of some banging in front of her to lead the most laps and take the win. Jim Cowhey Jr. who started 12th made his way up to grab the 2nd spot with a last lap, last corner bump and run move on Tim Sozio who would hang on for third after running a good smooth race. Danny Anderson who got a total of about 5 laps of practice would start deep in the pack and move up to grab the fourth spot and new comer Steve Markey, in a team truck to Jim Cowhey Jr., would round out the top 5.
As we head to Citrus County Speedway for what promises to be an exciting event, Tom Sozio continues to hold the points lead by 4 markers over Nick Hernandez who has just 1 point over third place points man Gerald Campbell. Jim Cowhey Jr. holds fourth by two points over Jessica Murphy who moved from 16th in the points to fifth after the big win at Auburndale. Joseph Mursuli is 6th and leads the rookie of the year points as well. Danny Anderson moved up to 7th in the points with Mica Williams and Josh Borem, both rookies, tied for eight in points. Rookie Michael Lira is ninth with Jessica Green rounding out the top 10 in points headed to Citrus. A total of just 26 points separate the top 10, only 11 separate the top 5.
A few more new trucks are expected as the phone calls keep coming, many drivers are excited about the momentum of the Florida United Pro-Truck series and where it is headed.
