KENNEDALE, Texas (Oct. 30)-Everything’s bigger in Texas, and the biggest dirt rack race in the Lone Star State is happening this week when the inaugural Summit Racing Equipment USMTS Southern Nationals takes place Nov. 1-3 at the Kennedale Speedway Park.

With more than 200 of the toughest dirt track racers in the nation converging on the quarter-mile clay oval in Kennedale, fans seeking that final fast fix before winter arrives will see some incredible action all three days with crucial qualifying events on Thursday and Friday followed by last-chance races and main events on Saturday night.

Drivers competing in the Summit USMTS Southern Series powered by Production Jars will battle it out for a $15,000 top prize while Saturday’s Limited Mod and Factory Stock feature winners will pocket $7,500 and $7.,000, respectively.

Fresh off of his 19th Annual Budweiser USRA Fall Nationals win at the Southern New Mexico Speedway this past weekend, reigning USMTS national champ Johnny Scott comes into the event with the Summit USMTS Southern Series points lead as he looks to cap off a dream season with another victory and another title.

But first he’ll have to deal with several others fighting for a final spot in the Summit USMTS Southern Series final top ten in points include Stormy Scott, Dereck Ramirez, Joe Duvall, Zack VanderBeek, Jake O’Neil, Logan Robertson and Zane Ferrell.

Johnny Scott is a two-time USMTS winner in Kennedale with both victories coming in 2013. The series returned in 2017 with VanderBeek walking away with the winner’s check and earlier this year Ethan Dotson snagged his first-ever USMTS victory here after a legendary fight to the finish with Rodney Sanders.

Meanwhile, the driver roster in all three divisions screams talent.
