10330313_667095823327966_5911772370919326272_nWAYCROSS, GA–The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series returned to the Waycross Motor Speedway Saturday night and two time Southern All Star Champion Ivedent Lloyd of Ocala, Fl., was back in victory lane for the first time since 2010 and collected $4,000 for his effort.

Russell Brown Jr of Valdosta, GA., set fast time in Whiter Performance qualifying with a time of 16.524 seconds and at the drop of the green flag Brown jumped into the lead over long time South Georgia veteran Cecil Eunice of Blackshear, GA., who was back in a super late model for the first time in many years.  Brown pulled ahead over the rest of the field and looked to be the man to beat, but Brown was caught in lapped traffic by Eunice and the two made contact with Brown spinning.

On the restart Eunice was then challenged by Jordy Nipper and Lloyd with Lloyd finally taking over the top sot around the midway point down the front stretch and then cruising to the win in his Lloyd Bros. Race Car/Race Engine Design power plant.  Finishing in the second spot was Cecil Eunice of Blackshear, GA., who was back in a Super Late Model after many year running the crate and limited classes in the South Georgia area.  Third place was Gray, GA., Jordy Nipper who made a challenge to Lloyd on two restarts but could never pull off the pass and had to settle for the third spot a career best with the Southern All Stars, fourth place to Joe Armistead of Senoia, GA., who started in the 6thposition and worked the high side of the track and was moving steady to the front until laps ran out in the 40 lap main and coming in fifth spot was current points leader Riley Hickman of Cleveland, TN., who 9th and steadily worked his way up to get a top five finish.

Finishing in the sixth spot was Josh Putnam of Florence, AL., who was making his first appearance at the south Georgia oval, as well as seventh place finisher Todd Morrow of East Ridge, TN., who worked his way up from his 10th starting spot, eighth place to Crossville, TN., driver Chris Wilson who also made his first appearance at the Waycross oval and got a top ten finish after starting 14th on the field.  Wilson also took the Cruise with the Champions/Dirt On Dirt  rookie points lead back over by two points over ninth place finisher Dylan Ames of Harvest, AL., who was also another driver making his first start at Waycross and tenth place was long time south Georgia veteran Hampton White of Waycross.

The next event for the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series will be Saturday night May 24th at the Tennessee National Speedway in Hohenwald, TN., a 40 lap $4,000 to win event.
