Salem, IN (June 7, 2017) – The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will continue its 21st season of competition on the fast 1/2 mile semi-banked paved oval of Baer Field Motorsports Park located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, this Saturday, June 10 for the running of the Summit City 100. The track returned to the ARCA/CRA Super Series schedule in 2015 after not racing there since May 22nd, 2011 when Brian Campbell scored the win in Asphalt Wars 100.

There have been 16 ARCA/CRA Super Series races at Baer Field dating back to the first race on June 26th, 1999 won by two-time Series Champion, Brian Ross. Three-time Series Champion Scott Hantz has five of his 31 career wins at Baer Field Motorsports Park, while Eddie Hoffman has been to victory lane twice. In addition to Campbell and Ross, a pair of short track legends, Fort Wayne’s own Larry Zent and Canadian Junior Hanley have a win apiece. 2005 Series Champion Jeff Lane, 2004 Series Champion Chuck Barnes Jr., J.R. Roahrig and 2015 Series Champion Grant Quinlan also have one win apiece. In last season’s event, 2017 Series Champion Cody Coughlin got the victory. It was his third straight win in a season that saw him go to victory lane four times.

Campbell is the only former series Baer Field winner currently entered for Saturday night’s race. Campbell won the series event at Toledo Speedway in April and is now tied for second in series all-time victories with Brian Ross with 22 wins.

Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year contender Josh Brock comes into Saturday’s event as both the series Championship Points leader and the Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year point’s leader after four series points’ events so far in 2017. Fellow series rookie Hunter Jack is second in points, he is 38 points behind Brock. 2016 ARCA/CRA Super Series Senneker Performance Rookie of the year Dalton Armstrong is third in series points, he is six points behind Jack. Wes Griffith Jr. is fourth in points, he is 14 points behind Armstrong. Rookie Logan Runyon is fifth in points, he is 12 points behind Griffith Jr. All of the top five in points are entered for Saturday’s event.

Other top CRA drivers entered for Saturday’s event include three time series Champion Johnny VanDoorn who picked up a series win at Anderson Speedway on May 7th. Florida native Steve Dorer is entered, the multi time CRA winner has become a CRA regular during the mid-summer months while staying up in southern Michigan. JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour veteran Jack Smith is entered to make his 2017 series debut, Smith drives for New Haven car owner Greg Urbine. Former series winner and Ft. Wayne native Terry Fisher Jr. is entered.

Former JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour regular Tristan Van Wieringen is entered to make his 2017 series debut. Also entered are series rookie Kyle Crump and Fred Hopkins. Former series regular Jason Dietsch and CRA Late Model Sportsman rookie contender Jason Neal are entered to make their 2017 series debuts. JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour competitor Clarity Patton and part-time CRA Street Stock competitor Josh Smith are both entered to make their ARCA/CRA Super Series debuts Saturday night.

Saturday night’s Summit City 100 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series is just part of a huge night of racing action at Baer Field Motorsports Park. The ICAR Outlaw Super Late Models will also be in action in the Stan Perry Memorial 110 lap event and a special 10 car, $10,000 to win Challenge event. Also racing Saturday will be the Baer Field Late Model Sportsman and Modifeds on the ½ mile and the Mini Stocks, Street Stocks and FWD’s on the 3/8 mile. Saturday night is also the 2017 Baer Field Motorsports Park “Hall of Fame” Induction Ceremony.

There will be an open practice at Baer Field Motorsports Park this Friday, pits open at 4pm and practice will run from 5pm until 8pm. Pits open on Saturday at 9am. Practice will begin at 11am with qualifying starting at 2:45pm. The race program will begin at special time of 5pm on Saturday and will include the Summit City 100 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series.
