The Memorial Day Weekend is fast approaching, and people are scrambling to get their Holiday plans in place. We would like to invite you to start your weekend out with us, at America’s Favorite Home Track, 5 Flags Speedway. The Buddy’s Home Furnishing Blizzard Series invades the Speedway this Friday night, with Race #3, the Rubber & Specialties 100. If the first two Blizzard Series events were any indications of what we might see this week, leave your seat cushion at home because you won’t be sitting much anyways. March 25th Winner of the Pepsi Max 100, Chase Elliott, will return Friday, as will April 27th Winner of the Papa John’s 100, Mike Garvey. Both of these drivers are coming off big wins this past weekend, Elliott at Iowa Speedway and Garvey at South Alabama Speedway. And it won’t just be each other these two will be contending with, as the expected list of other drivers looks like a who’s who of the southeast’s heaviest hitters. The question is, can Grill or Pollard get back to Victory Lane? Or will the 2012 trend continue with yet another different winner? Parity has never been greater in short track racing than it is now, making for a multitude of possible first time winners.

The Super Stocks will kick things off Friday Night with the opening event at 7:57PM, and Bubba Winslow will be gunning for his third straight Victory. Crestview’s John Schuffler and past Champion Randy Thompson sit tied for 2nd in the standings, just 18 points behind the leader. Also on the racing card this Friday will be the West Florida Coatings Sportsman Division, where once again Cantonment’s Steve Buttrick wii be the guy to beat. And the same could be said for the Butler U Pull-it Bombers, where Defending Champion Gary Goodwin has won 2 out of 3.

All in all, we can promise you an exciting night of affordable Family entertainment like you can’t find anywhere. The gates will open Friday at 5PM, with Blizzard Series Qualifying beginning at 7PM. Pre Race festivities start at 7:50PM, followed by the command to “Start Your Engines”. Adult Tickets are just $15, with Senior, Military, and Student discounts available. Kids from 6 thru 11 get in for 5 Bucks, and the little ones under 6 are always FREE. Come early and enjoy the fantastic food at Big Steve’s concessions. What an awesome way to start off a great weekend, at America’s Favorite Home Track, 5 Flags Speedway, where we’re still…..”Celebrating 5 Decades of Speed!!”
