stringerVLstr050413 (640x427)CARTERSVILLE, GA – Trey Bright of Coker, AL and Josh Stringer of Foxworth, MS were the big winners in NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 6 action on Saturday night.  Jarrod Fremin of Montz, LA continues to lead the point standings and holds an 11 point lead over Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL and Chad Hiers of Ocean Springs, MS who are tied for second.

Driving the AKA Cores Chevrolet, Bright topped a 34-car field on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS to pick up his third NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the season.  Bright is fourth in the point standings, 12 behind Fremin and one point behind Spears and Hiers.

Stringer drove the Sauls Farms Chevrolet to his first NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the 2013 season on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA.  The win in his fourth start moved Stringer up to the 14th spot in the point standings, just 33 points outside the top ten.

Fremin finished eighth on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway to bring his season total up to 254 points at the top of the list.  Fremin has one win, four five finishes, and six top ten finishes in six starts in the Fremin Racing Chevrolet.

Spears and Hiers each have 243 points in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings to share the second spot.  Spears finished seventh on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in the Bass Sports Online Chevrolet powered by a $3,195 Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine.  Spears has three wins, four top five finishes and five top ten finishes in five starts.

Hiers took the third spot on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway driving the Hiers Construction Chevrolet.  Hiers has turned in three top five finishes and five top ten finishes in six NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division races.  Fremin and Hiers are the only two drivers that have competed in each of the first six weeks of competition.

Bright’s third win of the season brought his NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point total up to 242.  Bright also has four top five finishes and five top ten finishes in five starts to sit in the fourth spot of the standings.

Dave Nations of Raymond, MS is fifth in the standings with 239 points after a third-place finish on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park.  Nations has one win, four top five finishes and five top ten finishes in five starts driving the Street Stock Set Up Specialists Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine in NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division competition.

Wayne Medders of Morton, MS is sixth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 226 points after two top five finishes and four top ten finishes in six starts driving the Medders Construction Chevrolet.

Stacy Herron of Kiln, MS is seventh with 213 points after three top five finishes and four top ten finishes in five races driving the S&B Contracting Chevrolet.  Herron finished fifth on Saturday night in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division main event at St, Tammany Raceway.

Eddie Willis of Saucier, MS finished second on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in the Willis Racing Chevrolet to move up to the eighth spot in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 208 points.  Willis has one win, three top five finishes and four top ten finishes in five starts.

Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS is ninth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 201 points.  Leftwich has two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in five starts driving the American Portable Buildings Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine.  Leftwich finished tenth on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park.

Roger Flynn of Denham Springs, LA did not compete in NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 6 competition and dropped to the tenth spot with 190 points.  Flynn does, however, remain “Mr. Perfect” with four wins in four starts driving the Flynn Racing Chevrolet.

Saturday night NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division action at Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL was rained out.  A total of 125 different drivers have earned points in the first six weeks of NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division competition.
