2013 525 SUPER SERIES LOGOCARTERSVILLE, GA – The 2016 Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series schedule of events has been released with 13 confirmed races and three open dates from March 26 through September 4. The schedule features 13 races at ten different tracks in four different states, with three new venues for 2016.

The 2016 Chevy Super Series season will open on March 26 with a 50-lap $3,000-to-win race at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN. The fast facility at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains will host the Chevy Super Series season opener for the second straight year.

Two-time and defending Chevy Super Series National Champion Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN is the defending race champion, and took the victory last year in spectacular fashion. Johnson had a tire roll off the wheel on the first lap of his qualifying run, and he had to take a provisional and start in the back of the pack. Johnson blasted through the field, took the lead on lap 35, and went on to win the 50-lap race.

The first of seven double racing weekends will begin on April 22 with a visit to Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS for a 30-lap $2,000-to-win race. Evan Ellis of Plantersville, MS is the defending race champion.

On April 23, the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series moves to Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS for a 50-lap $3,000-to-win event. Jason Cliburn of Star, MS is the defending race champion.

Penton Raceway in Penton, AL will be the site of Round 4 of the 2016 Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series with a 30-lap $2,000-to-win race on May 13. Jordy Nipper of Gray, GA is the defending race champion. East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL returns to the Chevy Super Series schedule after a one-year absence on May 14 with the $3,000-to-win Jimmy Thomas Memorial 50.

The month of June will be a busy one for the Chevy Super Series with four races on the schedule over two weekends. Penton Raceway will host its second 30-lap $2,000-to-win show on June 10, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will present a 50-lap $3,000-to-win race on June 11. Terry Smith of Oxford, AL is the defending TST race winner.

June 24 is the first of three Open Dates on the 2016 Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series schedule, and the series will visit I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, TN on June 25 for a 50-lap $3,000-to-win race.

There are two Open Dates on July 9 and July 10. The Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series will make its first ever visit to Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA with a 50-lap $3,000-to-win race on July 30.

The Chevy Super Series returns to a pair of East Tennessee tracks with 50-lap $3,000-to-win races in August, with a stop at I-75 Raceway on August 12, and 411 Motor Speedway on August 13. John Ownby of Cleveland, TN is the defending I-75 Raceway winner, and Tim Busha of Boaz, AL is the defending race winner at 411 Motor Speedway.

The Grand Finale of the 2016 Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series season will be at two new race tracks to the series, and they are two of the premier dirt tracks in the State of Georgia.

The $2,000-to-win Down In Dixie 30 will take place at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA on September 3. The final race of the 2016 Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series will be its biggest one with the Rome Boss 100 that will pay $5,000-to-win on September 4.

The Dixie and Rome Speedway races will also be a tribute to the former promoter of those two tracks, the late Mike Swims, and his father and current promoter Mickey Swims, who were innovators by being the first weekly track promoters in the South to allow the Chevrolet Performance factory-sealed racing engines in competition.

“We are very proud to be bringing the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series to Dixie Speedway and Rome Speedway,” Chevy Super Series Founder and CEO Mike Vaughn said. “The late Mike Swims was the one that got me involved with the Chevrolet Performance factory-sealed engines for dirt late model racing in 2003, and I ended up founding two traveling series for the engines.”

The sister series of the Chevy Super Series is the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series that has its cars powered by the Chevrolet Performance 604 Factory-Sealed Racing Engines. That series was founded by Vaughn in 2005, and the Chevy Super Series was founded by Vaughn in 2013.

The cars in the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series are powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance CT525 All-Aluminum Racing Engine that is built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. The Chevrolet Performance CT 525 Racing Engine is based off the production LS3 Engine that comes in the Chevrolet Corvette, Chevrolet Camaro, and the Chevrolet SS.

The Chevrolet CT525 Racing Engine is available at NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA for $7,195 with free delivery anywhere in the country. The cost of the turn-key ready CT 525 Racing Engine with all of the interchangeable accessories is $9,950. To place an order, call Tim Bland at 1-877-497-3624.

Drivers in the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series will also compete for a $30,000 point fund that pays back ten places and $10,000 to the Chevy Super Series National Champion.
