Annual Mega Event Scheduled for September 22nd -24th at Magnolia Motor Speedway

magnolialogoColumbus, Mississippi (09/21/16) – In just 24 hours the annual Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 will kick off at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. The huge event will be held on Thursday-Saturday, September 22nd-24th, 2016.

The 2016 Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 Presented by Cooper’s Country Meat Packers will be headlined by a $20,000-to-win/$1,200-to-start, 100 lap finale for the Super Late Models as competitors look to tame the 3/8-mile oval in hopes of claiming their share of the total purse that . approaches $70,000.

Entries for this weekend already represent a stellar field of national, regional, and local competitors. More entrants are expected on race day.

Drivers, who have already entered or voiced an intent compete include defending champion, Morgan Bagley, as well as Mike Marlar, Dale McDowell, Chris Madden, Billy Moyer, Rick Rickman, Brian Rickman, Shane Clanton, Billy Moyer Jr., Timothy Culp, Garrett Alberson, B.J. Robinson, Ray Cook, Kyle Bronson, Chandler Petty, Jack Sullivan, Wendell Wallace, Tyler Erb, Eric Cooley, Dylan Ames, Allen Tippen, Clay Fisher, Zach McMillan, Kyle Beard, Josh Putnam, Tanner Kellick, Brandon Overton, Hunter Rasdon, Chad Thrash, David Breazeale, Tyler Millwood, Jason Croft, Michael Arnold, Billy Franklin, Ashton Winger, and a host of others.

Entries from more than 12 states are expected

George Sisson, “The Outlaw,” has posted a $100 bonus for the fast qualifier in the Super Late Model division.

Also sharing the spotlight will be the NeSmith Late Models chasing a $3,000 top prize and Mississippi Street Stock Series (MSSS) competitors will battle for $2,000-to-win. 602 Late Model Stocks will be competing for $500-to-win on Friday night only, and Factory Stocks will battle for $400-to-win on Saturday night only.

Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ Trophies will be presented to the feature winner in each division.

602 Late Model Stocks will be in action on Friday night only at they compete for $500-to-Win

Open practice begins Thursday Night, September 22nd at 7:00 PM for all divisions.

Friday night will see preliminary action for the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 as Super Late Models qualify and run heat races as they attempt to make the feature field.  NeSmith Late Models will also qualify and run heat races.  MSSS Street Stocks will also run their heats. 602 Late Model Stock will run heat races and their feature event.

B-Mains for all divisions will be contested on Saturday night along with Factory Stocks Heat Races and the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 Championships Main Event Races.
