FASTRAK Returns to Action at Screven March 31st with Over $12,000 in Total Purse Money

As warmer weather approaches the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance will be heating up on March 31st at Screven Motor Speedway. Drivers will be competing for their share of $12,780, with the winner taking home $3,000. FASTRAK opened the season at Screven on February 17th, and saw Travis Pennington of Stapleton, GA take the checkered flag. When FASTRAK returns to the “Redd” clay in Sylvania, GA, it will be the first race ran under the 2018 rule book.

“We saw strong support at Screven all of last season and for this year’s season opener,” said FASTRAK General Manager DJ Irvine, “We’re looking forward to heading back to Screven as it is always a great event.”

Pennington currently leads the points for the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance. Ben Faircloth of Swainsboro, GA is currently second, with Ross Bailes of Clover, SC in third. Dillon Brown of Gaffney, SC is in fourth and Matthew Nance of Ronda, NC rounds out the top five in points.

Look for the 2018 points battle to ramp up as March 31st kicks off a stretch of four races in four weeks for the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance. After Screven, the series heads to Clary’s Speedway in Brinkleyville, NC for $2,000 to win on April 13th. The following night is the King of the Commonwealth at Virginia Motor Speedway, paying $3,000 to win. The series will wrap up the month of April at Toccoa Raceway with a $5,000 to win two-day show on the 20th and 21st. The Chevrolet Performance Late Models will be battling for their share of $53,570 of total purse money during the stretch.

PRO TRUCKS RETURN FOR 50 LAPS AS PART OF 7 DIVISION SHOW AT AUBURNDALE SPEEDWAY

Auburndale Speedway returns to action this Saturday night with a full program featuring seven classes of race cars… and Trucks.

The highlight of the night will feature the Pro Trucks in action for 50 laps in the Spring Begins 50. Also racing will be the Legend Cars, Street Stocks,
V-8 Bombers, Q Mini Stocks, Scramblers and the new Pure Stock division.

Among the Pro Truck drivers expected are Cody McDuffie of Bartow, winner of the first Pro Truck race of the season back on January 27th, Jason Lester of Palmetto, the Windermere father/son duo of Todd and Nick Haag, Derek Pugh of West Palm Beach, Lakeland drivers Colt Cecil and Tyler Davis along with William Kerns of Auburndale among others.

For the local classes, current point leaders are Jim Smith (Legends), James Wright III (V-8 Bombers), Steven O’Steen (Street Stocks), Chris Narramore, Sr.
(Q Mini Stocks) and Andy Travis (Scramblers).

Pit gates open at 3 pm with practice slated from 3:30-5:45 pm. Grandstand gates open at 5 pm and qualifying for the Pro Trucks is slated for 6:15 pm.
Racing begins at 7 pm with 8-lap heat races for the Legend Cars, Q Mini Stocks, V-8 Bombers, Street Stocks, Scramblers and Pure Stocks. Intermission will feature an autograph session on the front stretch with the Pro Truck drivers then it’s time to go feature racing starting out with a 25-lap run for the Legend Cars followed by a 20-lap contest for the Q Mini Stocks. The V-8 Bombers are up next for 25 laps followed by the Scrambler and Pure Stock features. The evening concludes with the Spring Begins 50 for the Pro Trucks.

Adult admission for all this fantastic racing action is just $15 with seniors
55+ $13. Children ages 5-12 are only $5 and all kids 4 and under get in free.
The family 4-pack is just $32 for two adult and two children’s admissions (a $40 value). Pit passes are $30 per person and all parking is free.

CRA Cancels Cabin Fever Championships at Lucas Oil Raceway

Salem, IN – Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials have announced that the CRA Cabin Fever Championships scheduled for this weekend at Lucas Oil Raceway have been canceled. With a forecast of rain and possibly 3 to 5 inches of snow on Saturday and cold temperatures both days, officials decided it was in everyone’s best interest to go ahead and cancel the event.

“We apologize for any inconveniences,” remarked R.J. Scott, Managing Partner with CRA. “We truly wanted to do everything we could to get this race in with the expected high car counts, but this decision is best for everyone. We decided to go ahead and cancel the event today so people could go ahead and make other plans.”

The Event will not be rescheduled. The season opener for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks will now be on Saturday, April 7th at Anderson Speedway. More information on all the CRA Series is available at www.cra-racing.com.
