Baer Field Motorsports Park up Next for ARCA/CRA Super Series

8.22.15-Victory-Lane-JEGS-800x415Salem, IN (May 18, 2016) – The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will head to the fast 1/2 mile semi-banked paved oval of Baer Field Motorsports Park located in Fort Wayne, Indiana this Saturday, May 21 for the running of the Summit City 100. The track returned to the ARCA/CRA Super Series schedule last season after not racing there since May 22nd, 2011 when Brian Campbell scored the win in Asphalt Wars 100.
There have been 15 ARCA/CRA Super Series races at Baer Field dating back to the first race on June 26th, 1999 won by two-time Series Champion, Brian Ross. Three-time Series Champion Scott Hantz has five of his 31 career wins at Baer Field Motorsports Park, while Eddie Hoffman has been to victory lane twice. In addition to Campbell and Ross, a pair of short track legends, Fort Wayne’s own Larry Zent and Canadian Junior Hanley have a win apiece. 2005 Series Champion Jeff Lane, 2004 Series Champion Chuck Barnes Jr. and J.R. Roahrig also have one win apiece. In last season’s event, Grant Quinlan got his first ever series victory on his way to winning both the series Season Championship and the Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year Award. (more…)

Menards 200 to Launch American Sports Network Coverage of ARCA Racing

American Sports Network LogoTOLEDO, Ohio (May 18, 2016) – The first ever Live ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards telecast on the American Sports Network is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, May 22 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The broadcast, from Toledo Speedway, will mark the historic inaugural airing of motorsports on the start-up 24-hour sports network owned by Sinclair Broadcasting Group.
The live telecast will be available to more than 40 Million US homes, and will also be streamed on-line at the ASN website, AmericanSportsNet.com.
ARCA Members seeking to find local ASN affiliates can do so by visiting: AmericanSportsNet.com and clicking on the schedule button at the top of the home page. Wet Forecast Forces Reschedule of CARS Tour CSX Play It Safe 250 at Southern National to September 3rd

CARS Tour LogoMOORESVILLE, NC (May 18, 2016): Due to a bleak forecast of 100% chance of rain for Saturday night’s scheduled running of the CSX Play It Safe 250 pres. by MMIA at Southern National Motorsports Park; CARS Tour officials have decided to postpone the event to Saturday September 3rd.

The next scheduled race for the CARS Tour will now be the 200 lap event at Tri-County Motor Speedway in Hudson, North Carolina on Saturday June 11.

Southern All Stars Next Stop; 4th Annual Scott Sexton Memorial At Volunteer Speedway

Volunteer SpeedwayFAYETTEVILLE, TN–The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will be back in action this Saturday night May 21st for the 4th Annual Scott Sexton Memorial at the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN., for a 52 lap $5,200 to win event . The event honors Sexton who in his short Southern All Star career collected 10 wins that all accounted for $10,000 wins the most by one driver in series history. Past winners of this event include 2014 Ray Cook of Murphy, NC, 2013 Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY., and in 2012 Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC.,

For the fourth edition of this event Riley Hickman of Cleveland, TN., will lead the Southern All Star drivers into the 4/10th mile high banked oval along with two Cruise with the Champions/Dirtondirt.com rookies in the second and third, Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN., and Jim Rogers of Statesboro, GA., both of who will be making their first trips to Volunteer Speedway. CARTERSVILLE, GA – Point leader Steve Pate of Heflin, AL picked up win number five on Saturday night in NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 8 action at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Pate now has 338 points at the top of the National standings and holds a seven point lead over Branden Harris of Molino, FL.

In seven NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division races over seven weeks, Pate has five wins and seven top five finishes driving the Pate Racing Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

Harris is in the second spot with 331 points after a fifth-place finish on Saturday night at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL driving the BH Built Bodies Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine. Harris has one win, six top five finishes, and eight top ten finishes in eight races over seven weeks of NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division competition.

Stuart Wilson of Milton, FL drove the Wilson Lumber Company Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to his sixth NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the season on Saturday night at Northwest Florida Speedway.
