January 27, 1999 Dwarf Federation News The 1999 Florida Speedweeks Asphalt UDRA Championship Cup for dwarf cars will be held at Charlotte County Speedway February 4th through 7th, 1999, with a guaranteed purse of $8500.00. Registration is $100.00 and over 50 cars have pre-registered as of today, with cars from Maine. Tennessee, Michigan, Massachusetts, and all corners of the United States.
The schedule of events is as follows: Thursday, February 4th Gates open at Noon Open practice until 5:00PM
Friday, February 5th Gates open at Noon Hot Laps at 4:00PM 2 Lap Time Trials at 6:00PM Racing at 7:00PM
Saturday, February 6th Gates open at Noon Hot Laps at 4:00PM Racing at 7:00PM
Sunday, February 7th Gates open at 10:00AM Hot Laps at Noon Racing at 2:00PM This promises to be an exceptional event, as it is the first National points event of the year, plus it is a welcome respite from the atrocious weather up north. The racers are itching to hit the track again, plus the family can have a small vacation in warm and pleasant weather. The racing will be fast and furious, as the "hot dogs" of Dwarf Car racing will be present. I have raced against them in the past and, believe me, they are fast. The best in the business will "strutting their stuff" for the fans to enjoy. B-Mains to be run each night, and four cars will advance to A-Main. The top 5 Cars Friday & Saturday night will advance to the Champ Cup Feature on Sunday. Once a car qualifies for the Champ Cup Feature, he doesn't run again until the Champ Cup race on Sunday. The top 10 cars (five from Friday and 5 from Saturday) will run the M-30 Dash for Cash for Sunday's feature lineup, and B-Mains will be run Sunday to determine the remaining 14 positions in the A-Main.
