Jan 8, 1999 Dwarf Cars Prepare For 1999 It is with great pleasure I announce the beginning of a new racing season and welcome everyone planning on racing with us in 1999, especially the rookies. The club is experiencing tremendous growth, evidenced at least seven rookies so far, with several more waiting for cars or the money to start racing. We can all relate to that dilemma! A few of the rookies were a direct result of Internet information and communication, to my great surprise. Stan Hope of Ft Myers and George and Mike Landis of Boca Raton became interested due to this site.
Our season begins with a BIG ONE, the Southern Regional UDRA Nationals, the first national points event of the year, at Charlotte County Speedway from February 4th through 7th, 1999. CCS has graciously scheduled us for eight more races through the year; March 13, April 24, May 22, June 19, July 17, August 28, October 2, November 6. Negotiations are continuing with several other tracks for a series with them, leaving room for inclusion in some special events to be announced later. we are deliberately keeping the total number of races to a reasonable level as we realize families and resources are at a premium and neither needs to be stretched beyond recovery.
CCS will be leased several times during the year for dwarf car only test and tune days, so anyone interested in seeing them scream, or may be interested in taking one for a test drive, contact me and I will be sure to notify you of the dates.
The Chaplain (me) will be at every race possible for anyone who may need someone to talk to. I'm just an ordinary man, so don't treat me any different from another racer. I'll race you hard, I just won't cuss you out later! Pre- race prayer will be held at my trailer immediately after the track's drivers meeting to pray for safety and success. Look for the purple banner flying high in the pits from a thirty foot yellow pole.
I sincerely wish everyone a good year racing and look forward to meeting those I have only had the pleasure to talk to or write to via e-mail. -Bill Moody Mail: Moody97@aol.com |
