                                      Schedules

Volusia Speedway Park made their schedule available to the public during
Speedweeks.  Last year, the asphalt track ran on Friday nights with the
dirt
track
in action Saturday night.  This year, all races will be held on
Saturday night at both tracks.  Special asphalt shows include a Top Cops
appearance June 5 and Southern Late Models on July 10 and Oct 1-2.  The dirt
schedule is highlighted by a pair of two day Budweiser Late Model 100 lap
shootouts June 18-19 and October 15-16.  Opening night for both tracks is
March 27.

St Augustine's March through May schedule is
available on their webpage.
The speedway will continue to operate on a Saturday night schedule under the
NASCAR Winston Racing Series sanction.  Opening night is March 6 with Late
Models, Modifieds, Trucks, Sportsman, Mini Stocks, Hobby Stocks, and Pure
Stocks.  Special events during the season include Hooters Pro Cup on April 3
and November 6 and the Florida Pro Series on July 10.  Special NASCAR
Touring Divisions attending are the Slim Jim All Pro on April 17 and the
Goody's Dash Series on July 24.

With Volusia's asphalt track operating on Saturday night, the balance of
action in eastern Florida has shifted to Saturday night.  Only Clewiston,
Orlando, Putnam County, and Lake City will run on Friday nights.  Orlando is
the only asphalt track out of the four.

Volusia will be competing for cars with three tracks in about a 60 mile
radius; Ocala, St Augustine, and New Smyrna.  It is unclear whether this
will affect cars counts at any of the tracks but it will be something to
watch.  Also, both Volusia and St Augustine have NASCAR sanctions.  Usually,
NASCAR doesn't have two sanctioned tracks running so close together on the
same night.
