Speedweeks 99 - New Smyrna Speedway

We definitely have alot of race fans in the area now because last night was
also a very good night at New Smyrna Speedway, at least for the fans.
For the drivers, I think it was more like a demo derby than anything.
Alot of cars were destroyed and many crews had NO sleep last night.

In the Late Model division, we saw a new winner - #25 Scott Wimmer but
after tech inspection, it was found that Scott had illegal carb so the win
was given to Jr. Hanley, #72.  Wayne Anderson in the #84 had the pole
for the feature race and did battle for it with David Rogers #11 but in one
of the cautions, Scott got the better of both of them.  Top five after tech
inspection were:

1.  #72 - Jr. Hanley (second win of Speedweeks - CONGRATULATIONS)
2.  #11 - David Rogers
3.  #94 - Wayne Anderson
4.  #37 - Jason Schuler
5.  #96 - Jack Cook

In the Limited Late Models, we saw the #75 of Mike Beyer with the pole.  But
it was the #10x of Brad Barkis, a 16 year old, that took the lead right off
the
bat.  But Brad admits that he messed up and the #7 of Dan Delisle took
over the lead and got his FIRST win of Speedweeks.  Top five were:

l.  #7 - Dan Delisle
2.  #10x - Brad Barkis
3.  #l9 - TC McElyer
4.  #75 - Mike Beyer
5.  #67 - Chad Allman

In the NASCAR  Tour Type Mods and SK Mods, we saw Doug French in his
#98 machine with the pole and fighting a very good battle for a FIRST win
during speedweeks.  Doug had to fight off a very hard charging #00 Ted
Christopher but he did and took the win.  Top five were:

l.  #98 - Doug French
2.  #00 - Ted Christopher
3.  #99 - Jamie Tomaino
4.  #95 - John Markovic (GREAT JOB)
5.  #2 - JD Bertuccio

In our Florida Mods, we saw the #17 of DJ Hoelzle with the pole but the
#66 of Jerry Symons had other intentions of who was going to win from
the pole.   Jerry took his second win in a row.  Top five were:

l.  #66 - Jerry Symons
2.  #19 - Tom Root
3.  #00 - Ted Christopher
4.  #7x - Steve Christman
5.  #17 - DJ Hoelzle

In the Sportsman division, we saw the #90 of Alan Janney with the pole but
the #31 of Brad Holifield taking the lead.  Soon Brad had company for the
lead with the #57 of Chad Pierce.  But then the race turned into a demo
derby and a number of cars were torn-up and the field narrowed greatly.
Top five were:

l.  #62 - Randy Hecker (3rd win)
2.  #98 - Chuck Vola
3.  #90x - Gary Vivian
4.  #711 - Jerry Smith
5.  #90 - Alan Janney

In the Mini-Stock division, we saw the #2 of Bob Doxie with the pole and we
saw the very same #2 winning his 5th race in a row for speedweeks.  Top
five were:

1.  #2 - Bob Doxie
2.  #03 - Timmy Hunley
3.  #KDl - Terry Cady
4.  #31 - Greg Luecker
5.  #55 - Rick Tumey

Tonight will be the last night for the Mini-Stock and Sportsman divisions
racing.  Join us for night 6
