TBARA Veteran On A Roll

Dave Steele of Tampa, a member of TBARA, is off to a great start in 1999. He won the season opener at Volusia in early February and took the checkered flag on April 24, at Columbia Motorsports Park. In between those two TBARA victories, he went cross country and had a great USAC Midget win at the Grand Opening of the brand new Irwindale Speedway in California.


	Dave Steele has signed a contract to wheel a Panther IRL car at Indy and hopes to make the biggest race in the world..the Indy 500.

At the USAC Midwest Sprint Car opener at Winchester, Indiana on April 11, Steele won both his heat race and the feature starting from the 10th position. He went back to Winchester on May 2nd to capture the win in the Stoops Freightliner USAC Sprint Car Series race. Dave led 45 of the 50 laps on the way to the victory.

Dave has tested at over 213 MPH in preparation for his chance to go to the big Indy show. Last years Indy 500 winner Ernie Cheevers is also a Floridian.

In other TBARA news Dude Teate is leading the points race with Kipp Beard and Ernie Teed right on his heels. Last year’s TBARA Champion, Wayne Reutimann and Kevin Cahill are right in the thick of the points race as well. The next TBARA race is sheduled for Ocala Speedway on May 8th.
