April 20, 1999 Rick Bristol Joins FASCAR Rick Bristol, announcer at Sunshine Speedway since 1993, is stepping down to fill some personal commitments. Bill Green will take over full time as the track announcer effective 5-1-99.
Rick who flags the Florida Pro Late Model series, will also be the new flagman for FASCAR the sanctioning and management body of Orlando Speedworld and New Smyrna Speedway. "I will need to be closer to home to fill some personal needs and the trip to St. Petersburg each week requires a lot of time that I will need for other things". "I will remain involved with racing , Flagging the Florida Pro and for FASCAR which will allow me to work closer to home and give more hours in the weekends".says Rick. "I will miss Sunshine very much the, last 6 years have been wonderful and Frank & Bonnie Hill are great folks and run a professional speedway and have treated me so well" adds Rick. " I will keep in touch and see whats going on over there". Rick started his announcing career at Orlando Speedworld in 1987 with Dave Westerman as his teacher.
