Jason Lowe Wins Feature and Championship at PCS | All Jason had to do was start the feature to clinch the championship with one week remaining. He not only did that but won the feature in dominating fashion. He took the lead on lap two and held off the charges of J.O. Nobles, Robby Barris and Marion Sizemore. Jason crossed the line two car lenghts ahead of Sizemore. Nobles was third followed by Morgan Bass and Donny Higginbotham.
The main event Saturday Night was a 30 lap Hobby Stock Feature and it didn't lack any excitement. Dave Dowling Jr was running in the top five until he slipped coming out of turn four, hit the wall and barrell rolled down the front straight bringing the red out half way into the race. Gordon Peck resumed the lead at the restart and held on to win over Al Robinson, Mitch Wise, Jeff Terrell and Derek Hullett.
Chris Hammond won his third straight Mini Stock feature. Casey Murphy tried but could not get around Hammond and settled for second in front of Art Souther, John Hopke and Robert Cook.
J.O. Nobles having already won the championship had one goal in mind, beating his record of eleven wins last year. He didn't have any problem accomplishing his goal winning for the twelth time in the Late Model division this year. Rick Singlar has been getting closer and closer each week but had to settle for second with Robbie Hagger close behind in third. Travis Rhoden and Gary Flynn round out the top five.
Ronnie Soltis blew up in the Hobby division and never did contined for the lead. Ronnie's night wasn't bad though as he picked up the Street Stock win over a hard chargin Timmy Dowling. Tiny Greene managed to come in third while also handling the announcer duties for the night. Tony Lewis was fourth followed by Billy Costello.
Mike Tripp won the Pure Stock race over twenty two other cars. Scott Booth came in second over points leader Ken Durham. Durham only has to start this week to lock up the points championship over Tripp. Roy Strickland was fourth and Robby Dawling fifth.
This week will be the final night of the 2002 season. The modified division will be running "topless" this week. Just for a little excitement some of the drivers have elected to remove the roofs of there cars should be a crowed pleaser. Gates open at 4 and racing starts at 7.
