T.C. McElyea Wins Street Stock Feature at Hialeah Speedway | by Marty Little
Hialeah, Fla. - Street stock points leader T.C. McElyea padded his margin Saturday night at Hialeah Speedway as he hustled to hs fifth score of the season in the 25 lap headliner.
McElyea grabbed the lead at the outset and was never headed has he paced rookie Sean Bulaskas, Tim Shaffner, Curt Haywood, and Chad Rutherford to the checkers.
Mustang mounted Bill Calder bested the mini stock 25 lapper when leaders Tommy Styer and David Russell tangled on lap 23. After a quick tire change Styer came back to claim runner-up honors ahead of Bill Miner, Harold Cross and Russell.
Victor Leo shadowed Zane Reid in the late laps of cyclone 25 lap run and moved to the lead on lap 20. Reid kept up the pressure for second money over Mike Powers, Tony Crowder and Bage Hernandez.
Former mini stock track champion Bobby Dayton lead all 30 laps to win the Outlaw Modified feature. Steve Quick applied the heat but settled for second ahead of point leader Ted Hoverson, Randy Sands and Mikeal Kohut.
