Greg Leonard Runs Away With Esat Bay Sprints | by Ken Sands> TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 14, 2002) - In a heated battle, Keith Nosbisch held off his younger brother, 2002 track Champion Jack Nosbisch Jr. to claim the win in the second leg of the Mr. Bud series for Late Models.
Keith started on the front row by virtue of an inversion and never looked back, he was challenged from lap 4 until the end by his younger brother, but Jack Jr. had to settle for second over David Schmauss, Bobby Alexander Sr. and Roger Crouse. Ted Erskine, KD Kelley, Bill Howard, Bobby Alexander Jr. and Dwayne Lawhon rounded out the top 10.
In Sprints it was Greg Leonard in the Mulligan Motorsports #3 taking the lead from Casey Johnson on lap 10 and the rest is history as the Gibsonton hot shoe ran away from the rest of the 22 car field. Sport Allen took second over Kenny Adams, Joe Melnick and Boston Reid. Micheal Smith, Johnny Gilbertson, Casey Johnson, Roland Johnson and Mike Senecal rounded out the top 10.
Forrest Gough took the lead from Terry Bronson on lap 3 and held off all challenges Bronson could muster up to claim the Limited Late Model win.
Bronson held on for second over Jeff Mathews, Dale Pope and 2002 Champ Terry Gay. David Simpson, Bill Howard, J R Prather Jr., David Boerner and Timmy Gay rounded out the top 10. Former track Champ Don Gansner claimed the hard fought battle in Street Stocks over Bryson Ryker, Tommy Mena, Eric Johnson and Tim Hunt. Rob Hall, Robert Fleming, Rob Roy, David Riner and Ron Pope rounded out the top 10. In Mini Stocks, Scotty Williams lead from start to finish and just held off Ryan Mitchell to claim the win . Chad Rose, Greg Meredith, Rob Pope, Kenny Rutledge, Wallace Peacock, Danny Bowman Jr., Jim Courson and Dorsey Strickland rounded out the top 10. Have an opinion on this story?
