It's time to race!

September 6, 2002

Williams, Blake, McPhail, Colgan. Wright all Winners at Orlando SpeedWorld

A beautiful night for racing. Stars in the sky, no "r"
word and cars ready to rumble.

Patrick Conrad did it again winning both the heat race
and the feature for the Bandoleros leading every single
lap of the feature. Following Conrad to the checkers
was #63 Dalton Zehr, #14 Troy Atkins, #2 Matt Martin,
and #11 Brandon Thomson.

Rich Clouser #17 won the heat race for the Super Stock
division but it was #50 Jeff Wright on the pole for the
feature race and winning from the pole. Following
Wright to the checkers was #12 Cory Freed, #17 Rich
Clouser, #6 Chad Pierce, and #7b Bob Wines, #44 Bob
Beiler, and #79 Rip Dyal.

In the Open Wheel Modified division it was #3 Wayne
Parker taking the heat win and also sitting on the pole
for the feature race. Parker quickly jumped to the lead
and held it until the caution was brought out for his
car leaking fuel. Parker retired to the pits, the gas
was burned off the track, and Bobby Blake #75 took over
the lead. Blake kept the point to take the checkers
followed by #30 John Foerg, #34 Frank Polly, #55 Shain
Held, and #3 Wayne Parker.

Richard Hight #23 and Earl Beckner #3 took the heat wins
for the Sportsman division. On the pole for the feature
race was Hight #23 but it was a hard charging #3 Earl
Beckner who took the lead on the green. Paul Colgan
#31, who has blown an engine weekly it seems, was running
second to Beckner and was able to make the pass and
take the lead winning the race. Following Colgan to
the checkers was #3 Earl Beckner, #23 Richard Hight,
#82 Tommy Johnson, #4 Rick Johns, #9 Kelly Jarrett,
#77 Danny Shearer, #13, #22 Homer Gordon, #ll Justin,
#7 Bill Hall, and #5 Bobby Rinaldi.

Mike Murphy #26 and Michael Williams #40 were the
heat winners for the Super Late Models. On the pole
for their feature was #26 Mike Murphy but it was the
#40 South 40 Motorsports car of Michael Williams who
jumped to the point and never looked back. Ronnie
Roach brought out one caution for a spin and Travis
Kittleson #88 and Mike Murphy #26 brought out the
second caution as they were going door-to-door, handle-
to-handle for the second place spot. Murphy spun and
both Kittleson and Murphy were sent to the rear.
Following Williams to the checkers was #14x Aric Almirola,
#18 Jared Allison, #16k David King, #26D Eric Deffendal,
and #14 Ronnie Roach.

The Officials Race was Donnie Lewis #17 (Rob Watford's
car) on the pole for their feature event. Lewis and
Chuck Rush #44 (Bob Beiler's Super Stock) went side-by
side for several laps until Rush was able to take the
lead. Lewis had problems and retired to pit road.
James Adams #22 (Homer Gordon's Sportsman) had a flat
and had to pull in also. Following Rush across the
checkers was #6 Barbara Pierce and #7b Don Nerone (Bob
Wine's Super Stock).

Tim "Missileman" McPhail won the heat race for the Mini
Stocks and also sat on the pole for their feature event
and won from the pole. Sean Bass #28 did a great job
of holding second until #30 Bobby Orr took that spot
putting Bass to third. Bass suffered engine problems
and had to retire from the race turning the third spot
over to #88 R.J. Arnone. McPhail was able to hold his
lead and win the race followed by #30 Bobby Orr, #88
R.J. Arnone, #34 Josh Roberson, #24, #28 Sean Bass,
#07 Dick Laszlo, and #3 Cory Kaiser.

Jim Leslie #45 took the heat win for the Strictly Stocks
but it was the #33 Frank Costantino who sat on the
pole for their feature event. Costantino took the lead
on the green but it was #20 Justin Reynolds who was
able to overtake Costantino and take the checkers.
Following Reynolds was #l, #33 Frank Costantino, #45
Jim Leslie, #27 Robert Ward, and #77.

Next Friday night the "Big Boys" of Super Late Model
Racing will return to Orlando SpeedWorld for the Sunbelt
Super Late Model Series 125 race with racing in all
divisions
