Rickie Henry Takes Late Model Sportsman Win at Hialeah Speedway | by Marty Little Hialeah, Fla - Claiming he was on hand just to try out some changes made on the car, Richie Henry lead all 25 laps to win the Late Model Sportsman feature at Hialeah Speedway.
Piloting the familiar RCR Oil No. 74, Henry quickly let his challengers know he was serious as he began to build a sizeable margin as he ran to a comfortable victory. David Weaver claimed the runner-up honors ahead of Ritchie Holt, point leader Gary McGoron and Ricky Thorpe.
The combined pure-stock-mini stock 25 lapper fell to mini stock point leader Tommy Styer. Wheeling his back-up Pinto, Styer dominated the event with a good drive over fellow mini stocker Harold Cross, pure stock point leader Frank Kelliher, Chris Stockton and Mike Crehan.
Mike Powers opened the five race Pinecrest Automotive cyclone challenge with a stunning win as he got around rookie Timmy Ryan on lap 21 and won the 25 lap headliner. Ryan claimed second spot ahead of fellow rookie Mark Bain, John Pettit and Rick Ulrich.
