Robbie Storer Takes Mini Stock Win at Auburndale

By Billie May

Dedicated fans waited out the weather to get entertained
with over 100 cars in the pits they produced some great
racing. And with being off for several weeks it was
obvious tempers were going to flair, not only racing but
we saw a boxing match, and some car stomping too.

With the 4-cyl. Bombers running a heat race before the rain
came they ran the other heat race, the other classes just
ran features due to starting the races later. The 4-Cyl.
had some new cars in this class with 17 starting. Larry
Chumney II #96 started on the pole and #l David Jouppi
outside, on the lst start Chumney didn't get up to speed
and #7 Chad Ashley got a left front flat and had to go to
the pits but came back out in time for the complete restart
and started in the rear. Once the green was back out Jouppi
took the lead and Chumney was running 2nd, #31 Donnie Guy was
3rd. Jerry Wingfield #38 got to the inside of #27 Wayne Guy
to move into the top 5, #54 Jimmy Smith and Wingfield go under
Donnioe Guy dropping him to 5th, in turn 4 #43 Kevin Lumley
and Wayne Guy get together and #63 Richie Acres slides in
sideways and hits the back of Lumley bringing out the red
flag for Lumley but he was alright after being checked out.
Racing resumes Chumney running 2nd falls off the pace moving
Donnie Guy into the top 5 #21 Keith Shirah got under Wingfield
for the 3rd spot, and #3 Terry Jones moved into 5th passing
Donnie Guy and Ashley followed to move up to 6th, but nobody
could catch David Jouppi and he took the win with Jimmy
Smith 2nd, Keith Shirah 3rd.
4 - 38 Jerry Wingfield
5 - 3 Terry Jones
6 - 7 Chad Ashley
7 - 31 Donnie Guy
8 - 27 Wayne Guy
9 - 30 Gary Guy
10 - 9 Darryl Ashmore, Jr.

Super Stocks had more than just racing in their feature with
20 cars and tempers flying R.J. Williams #16 and #13 Aaron
Williamson were the front row, on the green they were side-by-
side for a couple laps until a caution came out for a couple
cars getting together but kept going. On the restart Williams
had the front spot, Aaron Williamson, #2 Paul Gibbs, #8 Adam
King, and #62 Travis Wilson were the top 5. Wilson got to the
inside of King and #12 David Williamson followed meanwhile
Aaron Williamson running 2nd slowed on the track bring out
a caution, on the restart the leader Williams slowed handing
the lead to the ponts leader Gibbs, with cars dropping out
the top 5 changed with Gibbs leading, Wilson, David Williamson,
King and #80 Dustin Breeden going into turn 3,#01 Chris
Lewellen, #34 Jeff McCaw, and Breedenwere going to make it
3-wide but McCaw backed out Lewellen and took advantage taking
the 5th spot going into turn l Breeden taps McCaw and he hits
the wall. Breeden getst tangled up with McCaw and on comes
the boxing match with a few kicks from McCaw to the drivers
net, fire extinguisher smoke coming from Breedens car after
shooting it towards McCaw, then they both stomp on each others
cars. Needless to say they were both DQed for their actions
of the night. After clean-up and racing went on with 5 laps
to go Paul Gibbs takes the win, Travis Wilson 2nd, and David
Williamson 3rd.

got under Norris on the back stretch for the 3rd spot but
Norris barely clipping the bumper of Harbin sending them
both into lazy spins, Harbin recovers Norris didn't and that
sent him sliding through the muddy infield right into the
clean up truck, damage to both vehicles. Norris returns to
race, the truck went to the pits. Racing again Weatherford
and Harbin get together and spin on the back stretch Weather-
ford to the rear for the restart, Harbin went to the pits.
