Phillip Cobb Holds Off Donnie Tanner In East Bay Late Models | Sixteen year old Danny Martin Jr. took the lead from Paulie Milum on lap 1 and never looked back enroute to his 3rd win of the 2002 season.
Milum and Martin made up the front row at the drop of the green, with the race went going non stop, the youngster manuevered flawlessly through lapped traffic to hold off a late charge by Milum.
Joe Melnick, Daryl Smith and Brian Maddox rounded out the top 5. In the annual Hot Shoe race, it was Brian Maddox holding off Daryl Smith to claim the 2002 title. Danny Martin Jr., Joe Melnick and Paulie Milum rounded out the top 5.
By virtue of his Hot Shoe win Maddox will now start on the pole for the Ted Fleming Memorial race coming up on July 27.
In Late Models it was Phillip Cobb taking the win over Donnie Tanner, Bill Howard, Bobby Alexander Jr. and David Schmauss.
The Mini Stocks fell to Kenny Rutledge over Chad Rose, Keith Simpson, Greg Pae and Rich Livernois.
The Limited Late Model main went to Forrest Gough over Bill Howard, Mike Rudder, Terry Bronson and John Norris.
Bruce Watkins claimed the Open Wheel Modified main over Greg Reutimann, Randy Thomas, Dean Varnadore and Randy Sheilds Jr.
Rob Hall claimed his first Street Stock A Main over Jason Bronson, Mike Gamache, Jeffrey Meixner and Jack Rowland.
The Street Stock B Main went to Wayne Hays and the Powder Puff to Amanda Rogers.
