Mack Hanbury Wins Super Late Model Feature at Orlando SpeedWorld

After a number of rainouts and many disappointed racers
and fans, Orlando SpeedWorld was able to get their whole
program in last night. With a few drizzles here and there,
it was not enough to stop the action.

Bobby Blake #75 won the heat race for the open wheel
modifieds. On the pole for the feature race was the #55
Shane Held. But sitting on the outside of Held was the
#2x Jason Boyd. Boyd took the lead from the green and
never let go. Following Boyd to the checkers was #30
John Foery, #75 Bobby Blake, #38, and #55 Shane Held.

Sportsman had two heat races. Bill Loomis #17 won heat
one and Rick Johns #4 won heat 2. On the pole for the
feature event was the #04 Bobby Rinaldi. Rinaldi took
the lead from the green with Paul Colgan #31 going side-
by-side with Rinaldi. The #04 Rinaldi and #9 Kelly Jarrett
spin but both go back to their spots due to track
conditions. On the restart, Rinaldi holds the lead but
not for long as the #4 Rick Johns takes over. Johns holds
the lead and takes the checkers with #9 Kelly Jarrett,
#77 Danny Shearer, #3 Earl Beckner, and #04 Bobby Rinaldi.

The Mini Stocks also had double heat races with #07 Dick
Lazslo and #7 Tim "Missileman" McPhail taking the wins.
On the pole for the feature event was the #7 Tim "Missile-
man" McPhail who also won from the pole. Bobby Orr #30
had a good run and got up to third but had to pit on the
last lap. Also #88 A.J. had a very good run but also had
to pull off in the race. Following McPhail to the checkers
was #07 Dick Lazslo, #38 Sean Bass (Great JOB Sean), #46,
and #43 Tom Rose.

Ronnie Roach #14 won heat one for the Super Lates with #7
Matt Griffin winning heat two. On the pole for the feature
race was #45 Mack Hanbury who also won from the pole. In
spite of a few restarts, Hanbury was able to maintain his
lead and take home the checkered. Following Hanbury across
the checkers was #02 Jared Allison, #14 Ronnie Roach, #54
Russ Thompson, and #7 Matt Griffin.

Jeff Wright #50 took the heat win for the Super Stocks.
On the pole for the feature race was #00 John Hodge.
Hodge lead every lap except the one that counts the most,
the last lap. On the last lap, Wright #50 was able to
pass Hodge and take the win. Following Wright to the
checkers was #00 John Hodge, #l Carl Peters, #12 Cory
Freed, and #2 Ron Whaley.

Strictly Stocks did not have a heat race but a 25 lap
feature event. The #0 won followed by #38, #14, #55
and #20. Sorry guys, will get your names later this
week and put in.

Orlando SpeedWorld will not run next week as the Pepsi 400
will be running in Daytona. But on July 4th, come join
the fun at New Smyrna Speedway as FASCAR presents the Twin
125's, the Clyde Hart Memorial. Plenty of action for the
Super Lates and Lates plus open wheel modifieds.

On July 12th, the Florida Mini Stock Challenge will run at
Orlando SpeedWorld.
